This Indenture made this twentieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four between John Scheel and Elizabeth his wife of the county of St. Clair and State of Illinois of the one part and Daniel Morlock of the county and state aforesaid of the other Part. Witnesseth that the said John Scheel and Elizabeth Scheel for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars to them paid in hand, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Daniel Morlock, his heirs and assigns forever all that Tract or Parcel of land Situated and being in the County of St. Clair in the State of Illinois and know and ___ as follows the South East quarter of the North East quarter of Section Seventeen Town one South Range 6 West being exactly 40 acres also Twenty acres off of the East side of the South West quarter of the North East quarter of said Section Seventeen T 1 S Range six West Also 20 acres on the North East of the South West quarter of the North East quarter of Section Twenty one Township one South Range six West The whole three tracts containing all together eighty acres. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Daniel Morlock, his heirs and assigns forever and the said Elizabeth Scheel and John Scheel the afore said ____ unto the said Daniel Morlock his heirs, and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these present so Witnesseth the said John Scheel and Elisabeth his wife of the first part have hereunto set their hand and seal the day and year above written.
