  • John Parke resided in Norwich, east of the Shetucket River as early as 1680. He and his wife Mary were members of the church in Stonington, and his daughters Abigail and Dorothy were baptized there. He was one of the petitioners for incorporation of the new township of Preston. In the partition of his estate, his widow received that "part of the farm on which Deacon Thomas dwelt by the pond."3

  • Joseph Parke died in September 1760 at Northeast, Dutchess Co., New York.6
  • He was buried on 8 September 1760.6
  • He lived at Groton (1721, a weaver), Preston, Middletown (abt. 1724 to 1736), Sharon (until about 1744) and Salisbury, Connecticut. He sold his farm and moved to Salisbury in 1746. He was one of the original members of the Congregational Church at Salisbury. In the Groton town records is a deed dated 24 Nov 1724, by Joseph Park of Middletown to Jacob Parke of Groton, selling: "All my right and title to ye house and land which my Honored Father Nathaniel Parke, late of Groton, dec'd, which he died possessed of, which fell to me as part of my portion."7
  • He was a weaver at Groton, Conn. in 1721; was at Middletown from 1724 until 1736; at Sharon, Conn. from 1740 to 1744. In 1744 he was one of the founders of the First Church in Salisbury, Conn. After a few years he moved to Northeast Dutchess Co., New York where he lived among the Moravians. Joseph and his wife were communicants in Sichem Church, 11 Oct 1758. He is last heard of in a deed to his son-in-law William Berin about 1758. He was buried on Sep 8, 1760 by the Rev. Evarest Garnbold.6

The Stonington Vital Records, as per The Riker Compilation, list for Samuel, a son Thomas, b. 11 Apr 1680, and then another Thomas, b. 7 Jan 1682, but died 30 Oct 1682. Until further info is uncovered it is assumed that the second Thomas (1682) is Samuel's son Joseph.
