Biley Dudley, who spelled his name Biley instead of Byley, the son of John Dudley, was born in 1790. He was married to Hannah Parsons (born 1794) on Feb. 20, 1814 in Windham, Vt. They had six children, all born in Windham. The original records of the marriage and births of the children are on file in the Town Clerk's Office in that town. In 1832 they emigrated to Northern New York with all their possessions in an ox cart. At that time the ages of their six children ranged from sixteen to two. They lived for a few years in Brandon and Bangor and then moved to Constable, where they spent the remainder of their lives. He died in 1861 and she in 1872. They were buried in the Protestant cemetery in Constable. Their graves were in an undesirable part of the cemetery and the slab tombstone was broken and in poor condition. Due to these facts, their grandson, Harvey (Dudley 9), [My great-grandfather--Paul B. Dudley] had their bones removed to the lot of his father (Dudley 8) and mother and a new tombstone erected in 1935.". Hereinafter cited as "E-mail from Paul Dudley, Sept. 2, 2006."
