In May 1650, Thomas Barnes was fined by the New Haven Court, two shillings for "two lengthes of fence downe and for poundage of 5 horses which came in there to pay five shillings."²
On 6 Apr 1652, at New Haven, "Richard Miles and John Nash for and on the behalfe of Thomas Welch passeth ouer vnto Thomas Barnes one acre & a quarter of land lying next Milford Highway, butting vpon the spring at either end"; "Thomas Barnes passeth this formentioned parcell of land of 1 acre & quarter to William Fowler." "Widow Banister passeth ouer to Thomas Barnes his horse & home lott which her husband had of Steven Metcalfe."³

In Dec 1680, Thomas Barnes was to receive 23 acres in the third division of lands.⁷
His will was dated on 25 February 1683/84 at Middletown, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, proved 7 Sep 1693, names eldest son John; son Thomas; son Daniel; daughter Mercy Jacobs; daughters Martha, Elizabeth, and Abigail; and youngest son Maibe to receive "all my land in Middletown after my wivs Deseas."⁸
