  • She married William Chatterton, son of Michael Chatterton and Martha Vinel, at New Haven, Connecticut, before 1661.
  • Mary Clark died on 3 February 1722 at Wallingford, New Haven Co., Connecticut.
  • Baptized as an adult 8 Apr 1688. The census of 1704 in New Haven lists a "Widow Chaterton" with a household of five persons. Mary is the daughter of James Clark of New Haven and an unknown first wife. Some genalogies have incorrectly claimed Mary's father as James Clark, brother of Jeremy Clark of Rhode Island, who married Sarah Harvey. While Jeremy Clark did have a brother named James, he (James) died before 1647 in England. There is no evidence that James Clark and Sarah Harvey ever came to America. They did have a daughter Mary, however, she was born in 1633, in England, as per the 1634 "Visitation of London" which claimed her as one year old in 1634.
