Hannah Brewer1,2

b. between 1765 and 1770, d. 23 September 1848
  • Hannah Brewer was probably born between 1765 and 1770 at Dutchess Co., New York.
  • She married Elnathan Underhill, son of Bartow Underhill and Sarah, at Sunbury Co., New Brunswick, Canada, circa 1784.3,4
  • Hannah Brewer died on 23 September 1848 at Vittoria Charlotteville Twp., Norfolk Co., Ontario, Canada; "age 83."5
  • She was buried at Baptist Cemetery, Vittoria, Charlotteville Twp., Ontario, Canada.1,5
  • Also known as Hannah Brower.6
  • Her placement in the family of Adolf and Elisabeth (Lassing) Brouwer is based upon her appearance in Sudbury County, New Brunswick in the years just after the American Revolution. It is clear from passenger lists of May and June 1784, that Hannah's husband, Elnathan Underhill, came to New Brunswick as a single man, therefore the two were married only after they appeared in New Brusnswick. As it is now apparent that Hannah came to New Brunswick as a single woman, she most certainly was a member of the only Brouwer family found in Sudbury Co., New Brunswick in 1783. That being the family of Adolf Brouwer (then desceased) and Elizabeth Lassing.7

Latter generations are recounted by descendants who lived in the latter part of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries, and the ancestors who they describe were their parents and grandparents. p.21.
