- Also known as Burgis Drake.3
- He appeared on the census in 1800 at Goshen, Orange Co., New York, as Burgess Drake, with a household of 4 males under 10, 1 male 26-44, 1 female under 10, 1 female 26-44.4
- He appeared on the census in 1810 at Goshen, Orange Co., New York, as Burgis Drake, with a household of 2 males 10-15, 2 males 16-25, 1 male 26-44, 2 females under 10, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 26-44.5
- "Burgis Drake was an early settler at the Widow Miller Place at Black. He was the father of Jesse R., Ebenezer, Franklin, Isaac and James. He died in the '20s and was survived by his wife, Hannah, a number of years."3
- Burgis Drake signed a petition in Bradford Co., Pa. in 1819 but is not found there on the 1820 census. C. F. Heverley in History of Sheshequin, names five sons for Burgis, yet the 1800 and 1810 census only records four males under 10 and under 15 respectively. In addition the 1810 census shows him with three females who are likely daughters who have not been identified.
