In London he and his wife received letters of denization dated 8 March 1681/82. Many other Huguenots received letters on this same day.2
- Administration of Auguste Grasset's estate was granted on 16 April 1712, by Gov. Hunter to Louis Dubois, Joseph Oldfield, and Henry de Money (sons-in-law of Auguste Grasset).3

- Samuel Grasset appears on the New York City tax rolls on 7 March 1698/99. Earlier in that year he witnessed a conveyance by John and Hester Belvealle of an acre of ground for the building of the French Church on Staten Island. On 15 Feb 1699/1700 he bought land from James Fitchett on Staten Island. On 18 Nov 1703 Samuel and his wife Martha sold the property to his wife's brother-in-law Andrew Cannon. In the conveyance he is called a yeoman. He witnessed the unrecorded will of Abraham Larue of Staten Island with his brother-in-law Louis Dubois and two others (Burlington, New Jersey). Two children were baptized in the French Church in New York City, with the others likely to have baptized at Staten Island where the records have been lost. Between 1704 and 1721 there is no mention of Samuel in any record. He does not appear on the 1706/08 census of Staten Island. He did not participate in the administration of his father's estate. In 1721 he appears in Charleston, South Carolina on the list of petit jurors. On 31 May 1722 he witnessed a release of a part of a Charleston lot from John Bayley to Moses Wilson.3
