He made a contract with the patroon on 15 April 1634, and sailed with his wife Divertgen Cornelis and three sons, Gijsbert, Theus, and Jan. His account with the Rensselaerwijck colony runs from 20 July 1634 until 1647.5
  • He moved to New Amsterdam in 1647/48 and was at Begren (Jersey City) by 1654.3
