  • Isaac Hoff was born on 2 April 1758 at Hunterdon Co., New Jersey.2
  • He was a Revolutionary War soldier. As a resident of Hunterdon Co., New Jersey, Isaac Hoff enlisted after the British entered Boston and served for one month as a private in Capt. Cilnoff's (Kirkoff's?) Co., Col. Mahalm's Regt. during which time he was engaged in building a fort at Staten Island. He enlisted a short time before the British entered New York City and served as different times as a private in the New Jersey troops amounting to at least sixteen months of service. He was at the Battle of Millstone Creek where he was wounded by a ball in the front of his head. He was at the Battle of Monmouth, and in frequent other skirmishes.3
  • In 1790 Isaac Hoff resided at Reading Twp., Hunterdon Co., New Jersey; until he moved to Kentucky, and then to Butler Co., Ohio in 1803.1,4
  • He was named in his father's will dated on 7 May 1790.1
  • On 4 August 1833 Isaac Hoff resided at Butler Co., Ohio; when he was allowed a pension based upon his service during the Revolutionary War.5
