The first records of him pertain to land transfers at Esopus (now Kingston), Ulster Co., New York and are dated 1688 and 1692. Afterwards he was at the Huguenot settlement on Staten Island. He then moved to Hopewell Twp., Burlington Co. (later in Hunterdon Co., now in Mercer Co.) New Jersey prior to 1712.6
  • His will was dated on 21 September 1702 at Staten Island, Richmond Co., New York, although his estate was administered in New Jersey. "First I will that the children of Josua Creson shall have eight cows to be divided amongst them as they come to age."1,7
  • Administration of Abraham LaRue's estate was granted on 14 June 1712, to Abraham's widow Olive (an anglicization of Aeltje).3

  • She married John Manning, son of Nicholas Manning and Elizabeth, at Boston, Massachusetts, on 9 May 1695.1
  • Joanna Lash died on 4 December 1722 at Boston, Massachusetts; (the record erroneously calls her "Susanna").1
  • Her parentage has not been discovered and it is surmised (Manning Families of New England, p.692) that she may be a widow of William Lash who names his wife Joanna in his will dated 26 Dec 1687 (William died before 22 Jul 1693). The History of Ancient Sheepscot states that a John Manning married a daughter of John Mason (as did John's father Nicholas) and unless the History is confusing John with his father, it may be possible that the two married sisters, meaning that Joanna Lash is a Joanna Mason.1

  • She witnessed the baptism of Johannes Lassen , son of Pieter Pietersz Lassen and Cornelia Rees, on 14 March 1709 ("born this winter," by the Lutheran Minister in Lassen's house beyond the Highlands. Sponsors Casper Jansen Halenbeeck and Antje Lassen.).2
