He may have been one of the two William Lassings who signed the petition about the Poughquag church conflict in 1749. William Isaac Lassing was on the Poughkeepsie tax lists from Feb 1760 to 1773. He is possibly one of the two William Lawsons found on the 1790 Federal census at Poughkeepsie.3

Ordered that parties shall be summoned on both sides against the next Court day, to be heard together, and order deft. to bring in, what she can for her defence on the next Court day.

21 Nov 1662: Schout Pieter Tonneman, pltf. vs. Merritje Lauwerens, deft. Pltf. concludes that the deft. shall be condemned to remain in confinement for the term of six months in this City Hall on bread and water or to be fined in the sum of three hundred guilders with costs for and because she grievously beat Annetje Smitt, wife of Hendrick Jansen Smitt, in her own house and threw her on the ground; producing the information and declaration taken to this effect. The information being read to the deft. she denies having struck her and thrown her on the ground: declaring that she wishing to leave the house, her skirt caught in the fastening of the door, so that she must open the door, which struck against her body; she further relates the cause from which the difficulty arose. The deft. withdrawing, Schepen Isaack Greveraat declares, that he and the Officer taking the information, Annetje Smitt acknowledged, that she accused the deft. with being a thievish whore, which the Officer declared to be true. - Arent, his wife, and three sons came to New Netherland before 1655. On 15 Oct 1655, Arent volunteered to pay 6 florin in labor for the defense of New Amsterdam. On 13 April 1657, "Arent Lourissen, Carpenter," was confirmed in his rights as a Small Burgher. Roelof Jansen, a mason, died at Arent Laurensen's house on 16 Nov 1657. Arent Laurensen was compelled to pay some money owed to the Orphanmasters in 1660. He moved to Bergen, New Jersey in probably about 1661. In 1662 he signed the petition of the Magistarates of Bergen asking to be provided with a clergyman. He pledged 10 fl. for support of a clergyman, and his son Claes Arentsen, pledged 8 fl. On 4 July 1663 he volunteered for the protection of Bergen. On 21 Feb 1664 he signed a petition for the erection of a blockhouse at Bergen. On 29 May 1664 he petitioned "that a piece of low land, close to his plantation, may be given and granted to him." The petition was granted. On 31 Jan 1664, "Arent Lauwrenzen of the Village of Bergen," conveyed to Adam Onckebagh, Burgher, of New Amsterdam, a house and lot on the "Westside of Smee (William) Street," in New Amsterdam. In Nov 1665, "Arent Lawrence," with his two sons Claes Arentsen and Lawrence Arentsen, signed the oath of allegiance to the English. On 10 Oct 1670, various pieces of property in Bergen were confirmed to Arent Laurensen.1
