    In "Baxter's Journal" (in Manuscript, possession of Mr. Stryker Bergen of Flatlands), occur these entries: "Apr. 30, 1810, old R. Nefuss very sick with pleurisy." " May 2, 1810, died R. Nefuss, a particular friend of mine." "May 4, 1810, R. Nefuss was buried."
    His descendants are the Nefusses of Jersey City and New Brunswick, N. J., and Kings and Columbia counties, N. Y. Ruluf's name on his wife's tombstone at Three-Mile-Run, N. J., is spelled "Rulaph." He signed his name as "Ruluf Neefus."2
