This based upon the fact that an Isak Bennet and Sarah Bennet stood as sponsors at the baptism of Sarah Bennet, daughter of Adriaen Bennet and Josina Bennet on 30 Sept 1732 at Bensalem, Pa. The sponsors are more likely Adriaen Bennet's first cousin, Isaac Bennet (b. 1700) and Adrian's sister, Sarah Bennet. Identifies his wife as Elizabeth Aerson, baptized Sept. 21, 1701 at Brooklyn. Ledley includes in the family a daughter named Eleanor (#163) and states: No baptism record has been found and she is not named in her father's will. She is identified from a Bucks County deed dated 14 Nov 1768 between one John Bennet and Isaac and Jane Bennet, stating that the latter were grandchildren of Isaac Bennet, being children of his daughter Eleanor who married a certain John Bennet. The deeds also states that the children were living in Baltimore Twp., Maryland. The identity of John Bennet, husband of Eleanor is not settled. He may be Johannes, son of Jacob Bennet, or he may very well be unrelated to the Bennet family from which Eleanor descends.
It is probable that Ledley is confusing Eleanor/Elena with Helena Van Pelt the wife of Johannis Bennet (#234) a son of Jacobus Bennet and Elizabeth Brouwer. Hereinafter cited as "Willem Adriaense Bennet of Brooklyn."
