- "It appears that John removed from Kings County to the vicinity of Six Mile Run in New Jersey where his two children of record were baptized. In those records the mother was named Annatje, and Mr. Eardeley in his manuscript on the family in the Long Island Historical Society state that she was Annatje Remsen whom he married on Aug 19, 1746. While this is somewhat late in comparison with his presumed date of birth, it is not unduly so, and fits well with the birth years of known children at Six Mile Run."1
- Ledley lists only two children for John Bennet and Antje Remsen (Isaac and Neeltje). Others per Mike Morrissey (e-mail August 24, 2012).
- Ledley (NYGBR 95:26) places John Bennet (#240) as a son of a Jan Bennet (#92) and a supposed wife named Anna. This placement appears to be incorrect.2
