This list, begun at 23:93, is continued at 24:19 with the explanation that the list is "actually a group pf signatures (many of them not holograph, however) to the declaration below, which it does indeed follow in the original record book." Those signing the declaration were 1-Acknowledging Dom. G. Haeghoort as their legal regular pastor and teacher, according to the constitution of the Low Dutch Reformed Church. 2- That they will display and conduct themselves willingly in all respects as members of the Reformed Low Dutch congregation at Friholt and Middletown under the supervision of their pastor Do. Haeghoort. 3- That they will contribute freely from time to time according to their means, whatever is needed to carry on the church and services. In effect, those signing the declaration could be described as Members of the Low Dutch Reformed Congregations of Freehold and Middletown. The first couple of dozen or so names appear at 23:93, 94, as "Church Members," and then are repeated at 24:20 with the above clarification.. In effect, those signing the declaration could be described as Members of the Low Dutch Reformed Congregations of Freehold and Middletown. However, a marriage on the preceeding page, that of Jakkomeintje Brouwer, Weduw (to Johannes Retan) does imply that the marriage records as written at this time, did record the widow's married name (Jakkomeintje Brouwer would have been Jacomyntje or Jemima Quackenbos, the widow of Isaac Brouwer, and there are no women born Jacomyntje Brouwer at this time to confuse her with).
