- Dirck bought a lot at New Castle, Delaware from Justus Anderson on 20 Apr 1687, then sold it to George Hogg on 26 Feb 1688. In the deeds he was described as "late Inhabitant of New York" and "lately of New York," indicating that at least for a time he was a resident at New Castle. On 2 May 1702, Derick Vandenburgh of New York, merchant, was one of four trying to purchase 7000 acres on the west side of the Millstone River opposite the foot of Rocky Hill in East Jersey and the right of one of the proprietors of East Jersey, or, in the alternative, to purchase on the Raritan. He was listed as one of the participants in the Chesecocks Patent in Orange County, New York, 30 Dec 1702 or 1707. He was one of the joint owners of the Wayawanda patent in Orange County of some 150,000 acres and became a Justice of the Peace there on 26 Apr 1704. He also owned six miles of Hudson River front in Dutchess County, and several properties in New York City where he was a tax collector and alderman. In the Delaare deed he is called a "mason," and in deeds elsewhere, a "merchant."5
- His will was dated on 8 August 1709 proved 22 May 1710. Dirck Vanderburgh, Esq., of New York, being in health of body. I leave to my son, Henry Vanderburgh, £350, when of age. My executors are to have full power to sell any part of my estate to pay debts and funeral charges. I leave the rest of my estate to my wife, Reginah for life, and then to my son Henry, and to my daughter Anna Maria. Wit.: Stephen Van Brokel, Stoffel Elswaert, Joseph Huddlestone.6
