Nathaniel White

d. before October 1690
  • Nathaniel White died before October 1690.
  • Torrey in New England Marriages Prior to 1700 states that he married (___) Drake, probably based on the fact that Nathaniel's daughter, Sarah, referred to Capt. John Drake of Eastchester as her uncle in 1704. D. L. Jacobus in TAG 12:208 suggests that Nathaniel White most likely married either Elizabeth of Mary, daughters of Francis Brewster and his wife Lucy, who married second, Thomas Pell. The will of Thomas Pell (21 Sep 1669) mentions Elizabeth White, Mary White and Nathaniel White, but does not state a relationship.1,2
  • Inventory of estate taken in October 1690.3
  • Administration of Nathaniel White's estate was granted on 7 January 1690/91, granted to John Drake. Isaac Taylor of Eastchester upon agreement with the administrator about Sarah White, ye daughter of sd. Nathaniel White, with a consideration for bringing her up until she comes of age. And William White, son of sd. Nathaniel White is put in the care and tuition of the Administrator, John Drake; which children are disposed of according to the desire of their father, dec'd.3
