  • He married Mary Bussing at Reformed Dutch Church, New York City, New York, on 15 February 1774.3
  • Ellis Wool died on 14 January 1778; while being held by the British as a prisoner during the Revolutionary War, apparently on a prison ship.3
  • He was admitted freeman on 11 September 1770 at New York City, New York, as a "heelmaker."3
  • Both Ellis and his wife were living in New York City at the time they were married. At the time of the British occupation of New York City they went to Ulster County, where he served in the 2nd Regt. Ulster Co. Militia. He was taken prisoner at the storming of Fort Montgomery on 6 Oct 1777.3
