DAVID LLOYD TO ISAAC JONES

This indenture made March 5th A.D. 1741 in the  fourteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God King of Great Britain France and Ireland Defender of the Faith & c To all to whom these presents shall come David Lloyd of Bladen Co. in the province of North Carolina Blacksmith sendeth greeting. Know ye that I the said David Lloyd for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds of North Carolina Currency to me in hand paid by Isaac Jones of Bladen Co. province of North Carolina aforesaid the receipt whereof I do acknowledged have and by these presents do give grant sell alien enfeoff release convey and confirm unto the said Isaac Jones his heirs and assigns all my right and title to one fourth part of a tract of land containing 400 acres and also a fourt part of a saw mill erected and built upon the said land situate lying and being in Bladen Co. it being a part of that land whereon Edward Jones now liveth in the North West River Beginning at a light wood stake standing in John Protherough’s line then S. 35 E. 19 chains 50 links thence S 55 W 3 chs to a White Oak Tee then S. 35 E. 20 chs 50 links to a line of Edward Jones thence along said line N.55 E.117 chs. thence N.35 W. 40 chs thence So* 55 W bounded by said Protherough’s line 114 chs to the first mentioned station. To have and to hold the said fourth part of the above said tract of land as also the fourth part of said Saw Mill already erected and built thereon with all the premises appurtenances thereunto with one fourth part of the stream and all manner of timber on the aforesaid land with the fourth part of the dwellings  houses and out houses to him the said Isaac Jones his heirs and assigns to his and their own sole use and benefit and behoof forever the said land being freely and clearly acquitted and discharged of and from all encumbrances except the Kings quit rents. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written
