            To David M. Duke Esq Ordinary for the District and State aforesaid

the petition of Joshua Browder respectfully _____ that

            He is the father of Edwin Browder late of the District and State aforesaid who departed this life intestate

            That he died intestate was possessed after time of his death of personal property worth about two hundred and fifty or three hundred dollars

      That he left neither wife nor child surviving him and few if any creditors

     We petitioners therefore pray that you will grant him administration of the goods and chattle and effects after said Edwin Browder deceased ___ such trust as to you may seem ___ and your petitioners will ever pray &c

             By D M Duke Esqr Ordinary, These are to authorize and empower you or any three or four of you whose names are hereunder written to re_ais to all such parts and places within this District as you shale be directed unto by Joshua Browder Administrator of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of Edwin Browder late of the District and State aforesaid Deceased wheresoever any of the  goods  and chattels of the said deceased are or do remain within the said parts and places and which shall be shown unto you by the said Joshua Browder and theses view and appraise all and every of the said goods and chattels being first Sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God to make a true and perfect inventory and appraisement and to cause the same to be returned under your hands or any of the three or four of you to the Said Joshua Browder on or before the 25th day of November now next ensuing dated the 24th day of October 1864 and in the 88th year of the Independence of the Confederate states of America---  To Martin Browder  Henry Browder  James Ard  & Thomas Ard and George Browder or any three or four of you
