State of North Carolina No 775 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our treasury by James Ard have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said James Ard a tract of land containing one hundred acres lying and being in our County of Bladen on the East side of the Great Marsh Beginning at a Red Oak on the side of the Marsh and runs North twenty chains and fifty links to a pine thence East forty Eight chains and Seventy nine links to a Stake then South twenty chains and fifty links to a stake then a direct course to the beginning
