Quit Claim of Land

 

The State of South Carolina

 

Know all men by these presents that we John Baggott and Joshua Browder of Williamburgh District in the State aforesaid for and in Consideration of Two hundred and fifty five Dollars to us Paid by Samuel P. Taylor of Sumter District in the said State the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained Sold and released unto the said Samuel P. Taylor five hundred and seventy four acres of Land it being a part of a Plantation of Tract of Land containing Nine Hundred and twenty four Acres of Land granted to us on the 11th day of December 1838 and Surveyed for us by Joseph Sessions Deputy Surveyor as Vacant land on the 18th November 1838 We resurvey to ourselves three Hundred and fifty acres of the Said Granted the Corner joining the Land whereon Joshua Browder now resides where John Stephens and Moses Braveboy resides the said Land Situate in the district of WilliamsBurgh on the North Side of Santee River “on the South and South East on Wm Staggers “ [words between quotes was all crossed out] Wild Cat Branch bounded on the South and South East on Wm Staggers Land on the S W on the Theo L. Goint? in Land North West on Henry Singletarys Land and Est Geo to Keels land and on the west on John Scotts Land having such shape form and Land Marks as the Said Plat represents To Have and to hold the said tract of five hundred and seventy nine Acres of Land unto the said Saml* P. Taylor his heirs and afsigns forever. We do hereby Warrant and defend the said premises to the said S. P. Taylor against ourselves and our heirs Executors Administrators and afsigns In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and Seals the twenty Sixth day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand  Eight hundred and forty and fifth year of the Sovereignty and Independence of the United States of America

WILLIAMSBURGH DISTRICT)s. r. g. Ferrele a Justice of the Quorum Ex official in and for the district aforesaid do hereby certify unto and whom it may concern that Agness? Browder wife of the within named Joshua Browder did this day appear before me and upon being privately and Separately examined by me did declare that She does freely Voluntarily and without any compulsion dread or fear of any Person or Persons whomsoever renounce release and forever relinquish unto the within named Samuel P. Taylor his heirs and afsigns all her right and claim of Dower Also all her interest or Estate of the or to all & singular the premises within mentioned or released. Given under my hand and Seal this 18th day of December Anno Domini one thousand Eight hundred and forty and Sixty fifth year of the Sovereignty and Independence of America

WMS BURGH DI     )I R G Ferrele Justice of the Quorum Exoffio do hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that Leah Baggot wife of the within mentioned John Baggot did this day appear before me and upon being privately and separately Examined by me did declare that she does freely Voluntarily and without any Compulsion dread or fear of any Person or persons Whomsoever renounce release and forever relinquish unto the within mentioned Samuel P. Taylor his heirs and afsigns all her rights and claim of dower and also all her interest or Estate of in or to all & singular the premises within mentioned and released Give and a my hand and Seal this 8th day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and forty one and Sixty fifth year of the Sovereignty and Independence of the United States of America
