Bladen County State of North Carolina This Indenture made the twenty Eigth day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five between Thomas Rowland of Bladen County on one part and Daniel Drinkwater of Bladen County of the other part witnesseth that the said Thomas Rowland for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds currency of this state to him the said Thomas Rowland in hand will and truly paid whereof the receipt is hereby acknowledged he the said Thomas Rowland hath granted Bargained sold and by these presents doth grant Bargain and sell unto the said Daniel Drinkwater his heirs and assigns one hundred acres of land lying and being in the County of Bladen West side of Drowning Creek on the East side of Ashpole and West side of Indian Swamp Beginng at a fore and aft tree in his upper line it Being a White Oak running West 90 pole to a Stake  then South 180 pole to a Stake then East 90 pole to a Stake then North 180 pole to the Beginning Surveyed together with all tree woods underwoods ways water courses profits commodities advantages heredetaments &c the reversion reversions remainders and remainders Rents issues and profits of the said premises and of every part and parcel there of and the Estate Right Title and Interest claim and demand of him the said Thomas Rowland of of in and to the said land the premises and every part thereof have and to hold the said Singular the premises and every part thereof have and to hold the said Singular the Increases above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Daniel Drinkwater his heirs and assigns forever and lastly the said Thomas Rowland for himself and his heirs shall and will warrant and forever defend the above mentioned land unto the Daniel Drinkwater his heirs and assigns forever against the claim of any person or persons whatsoever in witness whereof the said Thomas Rowland hath hereunto set his hand and seal day of the date and year above written
