Wood Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. To all to whom these
presents shall come Greeting: Know ye that by Virtue of a land Office Treasury
Warrant Number fifteen thousand five hundred and three issued the sixteenth day
of April one thousand seven hundred and eighty three, there is granted by the
said Commonwealth unto Francis Browning a certain tract or parcel of land
containing thirty two and a half acres by Survey, bearing date the twenty ninth
day of November one thousand seven hundred and ninety six lying and being in the
county of Albemarle, on the South side of the North fork of Michums River and
bounded as followeth To wit: Beginning at two pines corner to Hugh Alexander and
Jonathan Barksoale and with Alexander�s line. South thirty seven degrees East
one hundred and twenty six poles to a white oak corner to Hugh Alexander and
John Alexander decd. And running thence on John Alexander decd. Line. North
twenty one degrees East ninety six poles to a red oak corner to said Alexander
and Jonathan Barksoale and running thence with Barksoales line. North eighty
five degrees West one hundred and ten poles to the beginning: with it
appurtenances. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its
appurtenances to the said Francis Browning and his heirs forever: In witness
whereof the said James Wood Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia
hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth
to be affixed at Richmond on the twelfth day of June, in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight and of the Commonwealth the twenty
second.
