KINGSPORT — Brenda K. Browning, 52, 1001 Shipp Street, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning (April 25, 1999) at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol after and extended illness.
She was born April 28, 1946 in Sullivan County, a daughter of Lawrence and Lois Jennings Linkous of Kingsport.
She was a beautician for more than 20 years. She was a member of Midfield Freewill Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, surviving are husband Robert L. Browning of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Cavin and Dwight Minnick of Kingsport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Patricia Cavin, Danny and Julie Cavin all of Kingsport; 3 brothers, Paul Cox of Kingsport, Wayne Cox of Bristol, Tenn., Ronald Cox of Nashville; one stepson, Brian Browning; two step-daughters, Kristy Watts and Cathy Hawkins both of Kingsport; four grandchildren, C. J. and Kayla Minnick , Tosha and Brittany Cavin; seven step-grandchildren, Amanda, Angel, Cassey, Alex, Andy, Bryanna, Derek; several nieces, nephews and good friends.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Midfield Freewill Baptist Church or other times at the residence
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Billy Gragg, and the Rev. Bobby Alderman officiating.
Music will be under the direction of Charles White and Judy Goins
Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dwight Minnick, Tony and Danny Cavin, Paul, Wayne, Ronald Cox.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Midfield Freewill Baptist Church or Wellmont Hospice House.
East Lawn Funeral Home is serving the Browning family.
