William Tripp Browning, 72, Elkton, died June 12, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Libertyville, Ill., and had resided in Elkton since 1932. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was involved in the Easter Festival and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Elkton, with Father Patrick Doody officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ambrose Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 5-8 p.m. Sunday; prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Flowers are gratefully accepted or those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to a favorite charity.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Sanchez Browning; two daughters, Dr. Ahn Browning Masters and Cecile Browning Nssbaul, both of St. Augustine; two sons, 5Gerald W. Browning, Cocoa, and James E. Browning, Ponte Vedra; two brothers, Louis Browning, Alpha, Ill., and Millard Browning, Elkton; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
