I, John Alexander Sr., of Russell County and Sate of Virginia do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.

1st Desire that immediately after my decease that there be enough of my perishable property sold to pay my just debts and funeral expenses.

2nd I gave to my wife Mary Alexander Fifty acres of my land my black girl named Racheal and her child Mary, them and their _________ to have and hold forever.

3rd I also give to my wife Mary all my land all my slaves my stock of every kind household and kitchen furniture during her natural life.

4th After the death of my wife I give to my fine grandsons John Alexander son of David Alexander, John Alexander, son of William Alexander, John Alexander, son of Mitchell Alexander, John Alexander, son of Daniel Alexander Five hundred acres of my land to be divided equally in value and among them the above named grandsons to have and hold forever.

5th I give to my two grandsons John McFarlane and David McFarlane one hundred acres of land to be divided equally between them to have and hold forever.

6th After the death of my wife, I give to my sons John Alexander my three blacks Jacob, Sally and Abram to have and hold forever.

7th I give to my daughter Mary McFarlane after the death of my wife my black girl named Unis also fifty acres of my land to her and her children to have and hold forever.

8th After the death of my wife I give to my daughter Nancy Robinson my black girl named Nelly to her and her children to have and hold forever.

9th After the death of my wife, I give to my Racheal Browning - one dollar.

10th After the death of my wife I give to my daughter (Jeannett) Browning my black girl named Nancy to her and her children forever.

11th After the death of my wife I give my daughter Ann Smith my black boy named Albert to her and her children forever.

12th After the death of my wife I give to my daughter Elizabeth Browning my black girl named Patsy also my black boy named William to her and her children to have and hold forever.

13 I do hereby constitute and appoint my son John Alexander and Samuel B. Fugate executors of this my last will and testament revoking all other or former will by me here to for made Witness of my hand and seal this 9th day of May, 1860.
