SENATE RESOLUTION 305

A RESOLUTION

1- 1 Honoring the late Walter H. Buce and designating the bridge
1- 2 carrying Mableton Parkway (State Route 139) over the
1- 3 Chattahoochee River at the Cobb County-Fulton County line as
1- 4 the "Walter H. Buce Memorial Bridge"; honoring the late
1- 5 Segal Durrence and designating the bridge across Thomas
1- 6 Creek on State Route 57 South between Reidsville and
1- 7 Glennville as the "Segal Durrence Memorial Bridge"; and for
1- 8 other purposes.

1- 9 WHEREAS, Walter H. Buce was a beloved resident of Cobb
1-10 County; and

1-11 WHEREAS, Walter H. Buce, through his commitment to honesty,
1-12 his love of his community and the State of Georgia, and his
1-13 devotion to his friends and family endeared himself to every
1-14 citizen of Cobb County; and

1-15 WHEREAS, Walter H. Buce on his passing was mourned and
1-16 remembered by Cobb County as one of the noblest citizens and
1-17 leaders in the county's history.

1-18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
1-19 GEORGIA that the members of this body honor and express
1-20 their appreciation of the late Walter H. Buce for his
1-21 lifetime of service to his community and to the State of
1-22 Georgia.

1-23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bridge carrying Mableton
1-24 Parkway (State Route 139) over the Chattahoochee River at
1-25 the Cobb County-Fulton County line is designated as the
1-26 "Walter H. Buce Memorial Bridge," and the bridge across
1-27 Thomas Creek on State Route 57 South between Reidsville and
1-28 Glennville is designated as the "Segal Durrence Memorial
1-29 Bridge."

1-30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation
1-31 is authorized and directed to erect and maintain appropriate
1-32 signs so designating the bridges.

1-33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is
1-34 authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of
1-35 this resolution to the families of the late Walter H. Buce
1-36 and the late Segal Durrence.

(Note: This Walter H. Buce from Cobb Co., Georgia, is NOT the same Walter "Hank" Buce who lived in Marion County, Salem, Oregon.)
