DAY: RALPH, Dedham, freeman 1645, died October 28, 1677, in his will of Septmber 12, preceding he made beqeuaths to his wife Abigail, who was daughter of Daniel Pond, and his children: John, Ralph, Mary, wife of John Paine, Abigail, and son-in-law John Ruggles. But his first wife was Susan, daughter of Jonathan Fairbanks, who in 1668 mentioned her four children in his will, and they are found in Dedham church records to be Elizabeth, who was baptized July 3, 1648, taken with the town record that shows Mary, who was born November 9, 1649; Susan, who was born 1652; and John, who was born April 15, 1654; while the next is found Abigail, daughter of Ralph and Abigail, who was born April, 1661

[Abigail, widow of Ralph Day, was not the daughter of Daniel Pond. His will made a bequeath to his son-in-law [step-son] John Ruggles, which would indicate that Abigail was his mother. Abigail Ruggles and Ralph Day were married Nobember 15, 1659].
