Franciszek (Francis) Buczek - brother to Alexander born Poland (?)
What little I know of Francis is in this letter sent to him from Oflag VII A. Concentratin Camp for Polish Officers and a letter below sent from London. I do know this, I know more of Francis's past than I do Alexanders.
Translation of letter
Letter sent May 19th, 1941
Dear and beloved brother,
Unfortunately I have not received a message from you that would be in these circumstances a great joy and I have no idea how you and your family are doing. I hope you are all in good health. I received though on 31st May 1941 a parcel (with food) that is a proof that you are alive. That's why I was so happy about it because besides great help it substituted your letter. Stach wrote me that he received a parcel from you 3 weeks prior that I got mine. Next time when you're sending a parcel please always state yourself as a sender because parcels sent by organizations and committees are always distributed among... (can't read - folded here)
I'd need: socks, long johnes, sweater with long sleeves if you care. I hope God lets me help you one day too! I miss the family. Everyone is doing fine. Ziuta's husband after pneumonia came home and is recovering. There's hope he will be fine. Ziuta had a lot of worries. I stayed alone as I was. Slawa left and I am happy about it after all. My dear Oles (???) you are really good. Since you visited me I have been thinking about you a lot when laying down and I keep on thinking we'll both live together again. I am learning your language and I could write to you in it. How's the sister in law doing? Did Janeczka get married? Hug them for me. Maybe Janeczka decides to write to her uncle. I would be very happy. Unfortunately I have to wait for letters for so long. I kiss you and send best wishes for SIL and Janeczka.

It should be noted, that when I first came to the Buczek's in 1944, they were busy every month preparing a crate (which Alexander built each month in the cellar) and filling it with food, clothing, utensils and anything they could afford to buy. They would send this crate off to where I do not know. I asked one day and was told it was for relatives in Poland and that there were many that were in need so each month they would send to a different relative. This continued for over one year and possibly more. As a child, I ignored such things not knowing how important it was.

My Dear Wanda
Xmas is coming and I want to wish all the best in your sorrow. The _____ from my brother's death must have been very hard to you as to all of us of the family. ___ I ___ my family here in London - we want to express our sympathy. In my sorrow I would not write. I have been expecting a letter from you. The news about our brother's illeness and death are very clear to all of us and we would be very obliged if we should get then from you. We understand the (disaster?) which occurs to you - to lose husband and daughter in such a short period of time. Although you did not know us we all have been suffering. I was with you Wanda in your sorrow. I regret very much that _____ my brother could come to this country ___ to you. Now there is nothing to do as only to consoule each other. How are you then? I hope to hear from you. I can't ____ that I did something to you. I have always given well wishing to you. I am wondering about this because I can't understand why you have not sent me any message. Ther must have been some misunderstanding I suppose. I must tell you Wanda that I am a happy man when I see other people happy about me. The ___ I wanted to see you and my dear brother happy. We here in exile have not our early life - he ___ your loving under completely changed conditions ___ in old age and we have been taught a lot to understand others too.
So my dear Wanda have a happy and peacefull xmas ___ and please find time to write a letter to us.

I have just found this letter recently and had no knowledge of my fathers brother. It is to late for me to express my sincere wishes to Francis, however it may not be to late to express them to his descendants.
