Will of RICHARD POWELL 1721  Barber of Petersfield

 

In the Name of God Amen  The four and twentieth day of April in the seventh year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith  Anno Dom 1721.  I  RICHARD POWELL of  Petersfield  in the County of Southton  Barber  being sick in body but of sound disposing mind and memory Thanks be to God for the same do make and ordain this to be my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following.  First I give and bequeath my soul into the hand of Almighty God my Creator hoping for  ?----? of the same thrô the merrits and ?---? from of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

I give and bequeath unto my  Son RICHARD POWELL the sum of thirty pounds to be paid unto him when he shall attain the age of One and Twenty years.   I give and bequeath unto my daughter ANN POWELL  to be paid unto her when she shall attain the age of Eighteen years. All the rest and residue of my personal Estate Goods and Chattles whatesover after my debts legacies and Funeral expenses are paid and discharged I give and bequeath the same unto my loving wife ANN  whom I make and appoint to be executrix of this my Last Will and Testament.

In Witness whereof  I have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and seale the day and year above written.
