The Morgan Township Elevator Company purchased property in Okeana on July 30, 1924.  An elevator company had operated on the same site since 1903 when the Willey Mill and Elevator Company began business in Okeana.  In 1917, the Willey Grain Company sold the business to Horace Butterfield.

The Morgan Township Elevator Company sold all types of products including coal, grain, seed, fencing, and cement.  It was managed by Florin Muller.  The elevator was damaged by a tornado on May 10, 1969.
