The Second National Bank opened February 20, 1865, charter
829 under the National Banking Act of 1863. It was originally headquartered
in the Hamilton Hotel but moved to the Beckett Building (214 High Street)
in 1866. From 1875 to August, 1931, the bank occupied the building
at 228 High Street. In 1931, the bank moved across the street to
219 High Street.
