The Paddy Mails

The Paddy Mails were the small engines which pulled trains along the Hardcastle Crags Railway.

There were 15 locomotives, each costing about £550:

Baldersdale was a Hunslet engine bought from Huddersfield Waterworks in 1904
Doris was bought in 1896
Esau was bought in 1904
George was bought in 1902
Halifax
Lipscombe was bought in 1900
Little Egrit was bought from Cransley Iron Company in 1900
Marple
Parker was bought in 1900
Robinson
Tenacity was bought in 1902, and had an upholstered seat for Tempest
Wade was bought in 1900
Walshaw Dean was bought in 1900
Walton

The carriages were 15 refurbished horse-tramcars from Liverpool
