The junction of New Bank and Charlestown Road taken from the northern end of North Bridge, with the Pine Apple Hotel at the corner of New Bank and Charlestown Road, George Riley's Clog Shop beneath, a warehouse with the faded name of Joseph Brook further along Charlestown Road, and beyond that, at the far right of the photograph, is the roof of a small fish and chip shop, and then the Bishop Blaize with the Whitaker's sign

For anyone unfamiliar with the tramway system, the things that look like birds in the sky, are the points for the electric wires for the tramways
