Here under resteth the body of 
Bryan Crowther, clothier of Halifax, 
who deceased in the faith of Jesus Christ, 
full of yeares and good workes, 
the xi of January, Anno Domini 1607, 
of the age of lxx, 
chiefe benefactor to the free schoole and pore
