Thirteen Again

Frank Boettcher, of Calumet, was granted a divorce from Elizabeth Boettcher by Judge Burnell, Saturday. He claimed that his wife had deserted him. The judge asked him how many children he had and he said he thought there were about thirteen in all. He was also of the opinion that half of them were of age.-Oshkosh Times.

An Oshkosh dispatch the The Milwaukee Sentinel had the following reference to the divorce: "Franz Boettcher, of Calumet county, has been granted a divorce from Elizabeth on the grounds of desertion. Boettcher's reasons, as stated by his attorney for wishing to get a divorce after nine years of separation, was that the fact that his wife, even if it were in name only, it was impossible for him to give a mortgage upon his property without his wife's consent. So long as they were not on speaking terms, he thought it would be hardly probable that she would oblige by signing any such instrument. He Testified that she resides in Steven's Point. He also said he had tried several times to induce her to come back, but she wanted her freedom. Asked how many children he had, he said about thirteen.

Frank Boettcher is a resident of the town of Rantoul.
