Chilton Times January 5, 1867

Robbed-On Thursday night Ziba Goff, who resides on Killsnake Creek, three mile north of Gravesville, was called out doors by Cyrus Welch and Rodney Simons, two half-breeds from Brothertown, and was knocked down and robbed of his watch, $15 in money and two notes of $24 each. One of the robbers proposed to kill the old man with a club, but was prevented by the other.

We learn the same parties broke into and robbed a store in Calumet Village about two weeks ago, and it is strongly suspected they are the burglars who broke into Lathrop & Watrous' store in Hayton, as a small pocket pistol was recognised in their possession which was taken from Messrs L & W's establishment. It is rumored they have been arrested at Calumet Village.
