The Brillion News - Thursday - January 25, 1996
Brillion - During the past year the Becker Cigar Co. manufactured nearly 1,400,000 cigars, a record breaker,
and paid to the government in Internal Revenue the sum of $7,000. In salaries and wages it paid close to $20,000.
Larger cities than Brillion would be proud to boast an establishment like this. Most of the wages were spent right
here in Brillion. It is the third largest concern doing business in town, being outdone only by the Brillion Iron
Works and the Union Lime Co. If Mr. Becker regains his health he predicts it will only be a matter of time when the
Becker Cigar Co. will top off its two leaders in wages paid. Easy matter he says.
