Died at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Clotilda Ebert, on Tuesday p.m. David Ebert aged 20 years. The young man was born in this city November 30, 1880. He was the son of the late David Ebert and since the death of his mother, which occurred when he was but a babe, he has made his home with his grandmother. He was a strong, healthy boy until about five months ago, when he caught a cold which settled in on his lungs and finally terminated in consumption. He was a bright, happy young man, a favorite with all his companions and the center of gaiety at every social gathering. The funeral took place from St. Augustine's church on Friday morning, the remains being interred in the family lot in St. Mary's cemetery.

Hugh Early, aged 87 years died at the residence of Moses Kennedy, in Chilton town, on Sunday night last. Mr. early was a native of Ireland. He came to Wisconsin about 40 years ago. Some thirty years ago he located in Chilton town and engaged in hop raising. He made a failure of the business and left this section. Some four years ago he returned here and since lived among his acquaintances formed years ago. Two years ago, owing to feeble health he applied to the town for aid which was granted. He leaves no relatives in this vicinity. He was buried on Tuesday from St. Augustine's church.

Norbert H. Ehlenbeck, age 79, of W1583 Tecumseh Road, New Holstein, died Monday April 15, 2002 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.

He was born September 6, 1922 son of the late Emil & Mary Richart Ehlenbeck. He attended St. Anna School.

On June 21, 1944 he married Laynilda Nellie Schmitz in Marytown.

Norbert worked for the former Leverenz Shoe Factory and later at the Arps Corporation {a division of Chromaloy} where he was a foreman and later a Superintendent. He retired in 1980. He was a former member of the St. Anna Fire Department and later retired from the New Holstein Volunteer Fire Department. Norbert was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, the Catholic Knights, Outdoors Sportsman Club and the Brothertown Fishing Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by wife Nellie of New Holstein; 4 Children: Phyllis {Charles} Schneider of New Holstein; Lester Ehlenbeck of New Holstein; David {Deborah} Ehlenbeck of New Holstein; and James {Judy} Ehlenbeck of New Holstein. Grandchildren: Melissa Hephner, Lori Hess, Corey Schneider, Carrie Schneider, Tim, Mike, Jennifer, Kara, Kelly, Justin, Jerad & Jamie Ehlenbeck and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 18, 2002 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. The Rev. Frank Weber, Pastor, will officiate.

Friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Thursday from 4-6:30 P.M. when brief family rites will be held.

Entombment will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum in the Town of Kossuth in Manitowoc County.

Erika Escher, age 58, of 1515 Mason St., New Holstein, passed away Monday evening, July 8, 2002 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.

She was born Aug. 10, 1943 in Heldenberg, Germany, daughter of the late Johann and Maria Neumann Baumann. Erika graduated from Heldenberg School and went on to Vocational School.

Erika came to America on Feb. 22, 1964; on June 6, 1964 she married Donald Escher at St. Peter - Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. She became a U.S. citizen on May 3, 1968. In 1969 she and her husband moved to New Holstein. Erika was employed at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein for 25 years.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in New Holstein and a member of the German-American Club of Manitowoc.

Survivors include her husband: Donald of New Holstein; one daughter: Renee of New Holstein; one son: Jason of Fond du Lac; one granddaughter: Raven of Fond du Lac; one brother: Heinz Baumann of Nidderau, Germany; one sister: Hedwig Widera of Nidderau, Germany; her mother-in-law: Marina Escher of New Holstein; a sister-in-law: Marilyn {Bob} Dill of St. Joseph, Mich.; and a brother-in-law: Dennis Escher of Plymouth. She is further survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Leroy G. "Bud" Ecker, age 64, of 120 S. Military Road, Stockbrige, died on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 at his home in Stockbridge.

He was born Dec. 26, 1937 in the Town of Chilton, son of Hilary and Monica {Diedrich} Ecker. He married Janet M. Schmitt on July 11, 1959 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge. Bud served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Parson Bros. Construction Co. in Stockbridge, and was a foreman at Tecumseh Products, New Holstein for over 35 years until his retirement in Dec. of 1999. He was a charter member of the Brickyard Fishing Club, and a member of American Legion Post # 128 of Stockbridge. Bud loved being out-of-doors, hunting, fishing, spearing sturgeon, and going up north.

Survivors include his wife Janet, of Stockbridge, two children Terri {Tim} Hemauer of Stockbridge, Leroy Jr. {Karen} Ecker of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Cade, Braden, and Trista Hemauer, Jamie and Nikki Ecker; his mother, Monica Ecker of Chilton; two sisters, Rita {Rob} Schaefer of Chilton, Dorothy {Ronald} Alger of Hilbert; two brothers, Robert {Carolyn} Ecker of Stockbridge, Allan {Linda} Ecker of Chilton; a special sister-in-law, Alyce {Tom} Head of Hilbert, a brother-in-law, Wayne Schmitt of Appleton; and special friends Bonnie and Elroy Gerner of Wausaukee. He was preceded in death by his father, Hilary Ecker, a son Danny Ecker, and a sister, Lorraine Ecker.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002 at the Weiting Funeral Home, Chilton, the Rev. Bill Schroeder as officiant. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post #128 following the services. Burial was in the Portland Cemetery, Brant.

Nicholas John 'Nick' Eberhard, age 18, of Darboy, died in an automobile accident early Sunday, August 18, 2002.

Nick was born on September 28, 1983 in Appleton, the proud son of Mary Eberhard. He was a recent high school graduate, and while in school worked at Kim's Place in Combined Locks. He was currently working at Kimberly Clark. Nick enjoyed working on cars, four-wheeling, and spending time with his family. Nick will always be remembered for his gift of socializing. He could talk to anyone.

Stockbridge - Peter Ecker, 67, died at St. Agnes hospital, Fond du Lac, Wednesday night after an illness of several months. He was born April 11, 1871 at Houghton, Mich., and was married to Miss Anna Gilles June 4, 1895. Mr. Ecker was town chairman here for a number of years and a trustee of St. Mary's church of which he was a devoted member. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Leo, Fond du Lac; Will, Chilton town; Gregory, Elkhart Lake, and Clemons at home; three daughters, mrs. Ed. Butler, Roseburg, Ore.; Mrs. Leander Daun, Chilton; and Esther at home. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. At St. Mary's church, the Rev. M. Gonnering officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Stockbridge - Mrs. Anna M. Ecker, 74 widow of the late Peter J. Ecker of Stockbridge passed away Monday at St. Mary's hospital, Milwaukee. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's church, Stockbridge, and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Among Mrs. Ecker's survivors are three daughters and three sons: Mrs. E.L. Butler, Washington D.C.; Mrs. E.F. Neu and Mrs. L.P. Daun, Milwaukee; William and Clem Ecker, Chilton; and Gregory of Pipe, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. E.J. Steinmetz, Fond du Lac; and Mrs. Louisa Baus, St. Cloud.

Anthony N. Eckes, Menasha, age 86, died Friday, August 22, 2003 at Century Oaks in Menasha. He was born in Sherwood on March 13, 1917 to the late Nicholas and Rose Horn Eckes. Tony worked for over 40 years at Kimberly Clark, Kimberly Plant.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Carole Eckes, Appleton; Rosemary {Dennis} Draska, Menominee, Michigan; Russell Eckes, Halifax, Virginia; sisters: Lorraine {Wendell} Warnke, Helen Welsch and Dolores {Don} DuChateau, all of Appleton; grandchildren: Jamie Youngs, Frank, {Stephanie} Eckes and Angela Eckes; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret in 1984; son, Anthony "Butch" Eckes, daughter-in- law, Helen Eckes; sisters: Marie {Cletus} Lenz, Florence Oskey; and brother-in-law, Hank Welsch.

According to Tony's wishes private family services will be held.

Nicholas Eckes, Parkside Care Center, formerly of 917 S. Short St., age 85, died Thursday afternoon following a lingering illness. He was born November 30, 1896 in Sherwood, and was a resident of Appleton most of his life. Mr. Eckes had been employed by the City of Appleton Sanitation Department until his retirement in 1959. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Nicholas Eckes {Rose Horn} formerly of 917 Short Street, Appleton, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday after an eight month illness. She was born October 2, 1898 in Sherwood, Wisconsin, {a daughter of Anton and Mary Bauer Horn.} She resided in Appleton most of her life. She was employed by Jake Skalls Wonder Bar for many years. Mrs. Eckes was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Ladies of Sacred Heart. Survivors include her husband, Nicholas; four daughters: Mrs. Cletus {Marie} Lenz, Little Chute; Mrs. Wendell {Lorraine} Warnke, Mrs. Henry {Helen} Welsch, and Mrs. Donald {Dolores} DuChateau, all of Appleton; a son, Anthony, Larsen; a brother, Jacob Horn, Kaukauna; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Nee Mary Richart, she was born in Bradshaw, Nebraska February 2, 1886, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aloys Richart. When a young girl her family moved to St. Kilian, where Mrs. Ehlenbeck attended school. February 21, 1911 she married Emil Ehlenbeck at St. Ann�s Catholic church, St. Anna.

She was a member of St. Ann�s Christian Mothers society and of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.

Survivors include her husband, a daughter, 2 sons, a brother, John Richart of New Holstein, and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Death claimed Christian Eichhorn at his home on Fourth street in this city on Sunday morning at 9:45; after a lingering illness. The cause of his demise was paralysis of the brain. Decedent was born in the town of New Holstein, April 13, 1860, where he grew to manhood. He was married in 1886 to Bertha Quante, after which the couple resided on a farm in the town of New Holstein until four years ago, when they came to Kiel. The survivors are his widow, six children and 9 grandchildren; also one sister.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, from the home. Interment took place in the New Holstein cemetery, Rev. W. Rech officiating.

A former Kiel resident, Max Eckes, 70, of St. Cloud, died Tuesday of a sudden heart attack while attending the funeral of Ronald Knier at St. Isidore�s church hall. Knier was the victim of a traffic crash on the Ohio turnpike December 19.

Mr. Eckes, a veteran St. Cloud printer and sign painter, who published a weekly shopping paper in that area, also organized and directed community bands in various Fond du Lac and Calumet County communities. He ran a printing establishment in Kiel which was located in the Commercial Printery building and later over Kretsch Bros. He directed the Kiel band and also conducted the first high school orchestra. A man of multiple interests and talents, he was also the first to bring motion pictures to Kiel.

A native of Oshkosh, he was born April 5, 1888, a son of the late Henry and Margaret Knickel Eckes. He married Mary Hanke of Hayton, May 24, 1910. He was a member of Fond du Lac Council 664, Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name Society of St. Cloud Catholic Parish.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a brother, Fred, of Hayton and a step-sister, Mrs. John Retterath, Fond du Lac. A brother preceded him in death.

Services were held Friday at St. Cloud church, the Rev. Roman Stoffel officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Helen Endries, 84, of 710 Marygold St., Chilton, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 20 in Pueblo, Colorado, while staying at the home of her daughter.

She was born March 6, 1903, in the Town of Chilton, daughter of the late John and Anna Kautzer.

On June 15, 1926, she was married to William Endries at Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1967.

Mrs. Endries worked at Nolan's Greenhouse in Chilton, and enjoyed many hours of crocheting and working with flowers at home.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chilton.

Surivors are two daughters; Mrs. Lee {Elaine} Hocking, and Mrs. Lynn {Carol} Krueger both of Pueblo, Colorado; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marlene Endries of Mishicot; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Evelyn Brock, of Joplin, Missouri, Mrs. Dorothy Burmeister of Kenosha, Mrs. Rose Showacy of Vancouver, Washington, and Mrs. Janet Koehler of Sheboygan; and a brother, Sylvester Kautzer of New Holstein.

She was preceded in death by a son, William; a sister, Francis; and a brother, Mark.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. on Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chilton by the Rev. Paul Brick. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

A few days ago a farmer from New Holstein, Christian Eichhorn was riding with a neighbor to Chilton. The horse bolted, the wagon turned over throwing him out and he died instantly from a broken neck.

Funeral services for Mrs. Peter J. Endries, 78, of Chilton, will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home in Chilton and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's church.

The Rev. Joseph Bartelme, pastor, will be the celebrant of the requiem high mass. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Endries, a resident of Chilton almost half a century, died at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth hospital, Appleton, where she had been confined since Jan. 21. She had been in ill health for the past seven years.

Nee Elizabeth Neuser, she was born June 16, 1870, at Manitowoc Rapids, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Neuser. She was married to Peter J. Endries in 1884 at Manitowoc.

Since coming to Chilton, Mrs. Endries had been a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and the parish's Christian Mothers' society.

Survivors are one son, William, Chilton; four grandchildren; two brothers, John and Joseph, Manitowoc, and four sisters, Mrs. Charles Gilbert and Mrs. John Fischer, Manitowoc, Mrs. Engelbert Renzelman, Sheboygan, and Mrs. John Pfefferle, Milwaukee.

Her husband died Dec. 12, 1948. Two daughters and one son also preceded her in death.

The rosary will be recited at the Pfeffer Funeral home at 8 o'clock this evening with the Rev. Thomas Peeters, curate, in charge. The parish also recited the rosary at the funeral home Sunday evening.

Peter Endries, 60, of Chilton, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the St. Elizabeth hospital in Appleton. He had been ill for several onths and was a patient at the hospital during the past month.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1863, in Town Newton, Manitowoc county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Endries. He attended parochial school at St. Nazianz and worked as a farmer and carpenter until his retirement. Mr. Endries was married to Miss Elizabeth Neuser at Manitowoc in 1884. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Catholic church at Chilton.

The survivors include one son, William in Chilton, his wife and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's church in Chilton with the Rev. Joseph Bartelme officiating. Burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. Monday to the time of service.

William Endries, Sr., 710 Marygold St., Chilton, was fatally stricken while attending a farm auction near Marytown at 10:30 a.m. today. He was brought to Calumet Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Complete obituary details will be published in Tuesday's edition of The Press.

Mr. Endries was pronounced dead on arrival at Calumet Memorial Hospital, at 11 a.m. Monday, after being stricken with an apparent heart attack while attending an auction near Marytown earlier that morning.

Born Nov. 11, 1900, in St. Nazianz, he was the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Neuser Endries.

He attended school at St. Nazianz.

His marriage to the former Helen Kautzer took place June 15, 1926, in Milwaukee.

He was employed by the Calumet County Highway Department for 35 years, retiring a year ago.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lee {Elaine} Hocking and Mrs. Lynn {Carol} Krueger, both of Pueblo, Colo.; one son, William Jr., of Mishicot and 11 grandchildren.

Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

Mrs. George A. Eldridge, 82, died early Sunday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lindsley, 383 Grove street, Fond du Lac, after a lingering illness.

Born September 18, 1868, in New Holstein, the daughter of John and Ann Wichman, she was married to George Eldridge on May 19, 1896. The couple made their home in New Holstein since their marriage.

Mrs. Eldridge was a member of the Ebenezer Evangelical and Reformed church at Chilton and the Ladies� Aid society of the church.

Survivors are two sons, Erwin of Fond du Lac and Laurence of Sheboygan Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Earl Lindsley, Fond du Lac; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Erbach of New Holstein and Mrs. Ed Reimers of Dale, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death October 26, 1947.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ebenezer Evangelical and Reformed church at Chilton, with the Rev. Orval Egbert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the New Holstein City cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home, Chilton, from 7 o�clock this evening until 11 a.m. Wednesday and at the church from Wednesday noon until the time of the services.

Henry J. Eichorst, 83, died Thursday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Bringman, in the town of Rantoul after a short illness.

Born February 9, 1867, in the town of Morrison, Brown county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Eichorst, he was married to Miss Ida Abraham on August 1, 1891.

The couple resided on a farm in the town of Morrison until 1925 when they retired and moved to Brillion. Since the death of his wife in 1947, Mr. Eichorst made his home with his daughter on a farm 10 miles north of Brillion.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church at Brillion.

Survivors are one son, Arthur, Wayside, two daughters, Mrs. Bringman, town of Rantoul, and Mrs. Albert Wolf of Brillion; three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Zastrow, Kaukauna.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Luecker Funeral home, Brillion, and at 2 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church. The Rev. V. J. Siegler, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Brillion Lutheran cemetery.

Gregory J. {Dub} Ecker, 99, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at the St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac.

Gregory was born on April 9, 1905, near Quinney, in the area of Stockbridge, a son of the late Peter and Anna Gilles Ecker.

He married Evelyn Lenz at St. Mary Church in Fond du Lac on Nov. 24, 1932.

Gregory and Evelyn farmed near Elkhart Lake until 1943 when they moved to the village of Pipe. They farmed and raised mink for 35 years, until retiring to Sun City, Fla. He enjoyed working with his fruit trees and rose bushes.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg and the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City, Fla., where he was also a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council, with a lifetime membership award.

Gregory is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his four daughters; a sister; a sister-in-law {names omitted for privacy}; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo, Clem, William and Arthur; sisters, Della Butler and Esther Neu; brothers-in-law, Ed Butler, Gene Neu and Lee Daun; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ecker and Alvina Ecker; and one grandchild, Allan Jenkins.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, in the St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac. Fr. Joseph Coerber will preside. Cremation has taken place and entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at the St. Francis Home Chapel.

When his aches and pains began to intensify, his favorite saying was, "The first one hundred years are the hardest, I hope the second are easier." And that wish came true. He will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor and his one-liners.

A memorial will be established by his family.

Evelyn M. Ecker, 93, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Jan. 31,2005, just four days after the passing of her husband, Gregory, surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff of St. Francis Home.

Evelyn was born on Dec. 18, 1911, in Jericho, Wis., the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Catherine Arenz Lenz. At age 15, Evelyn and her family moved to Fond du Lac, where she attended St. Mary Springs Academy, an all girls boarding school. At the Springs, she met her future husband through his sisters.

On Nov. 24, 1932, she married Gregory Ecker at St. Mary Church in Fond du Lac.

Evelyn and Gregory farmed near Elkhart Lake, Wis., until 1943, when they moved to the Village of Pipe, where Evelyn was Greg's partner in farming and raising mink for 35 years until retiring to Sun City Center in Florida.

Evelyn was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center, Fla., and was a member of its women's club. She also was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg, where she had been a member and officer of the Christian Mothers.

Both were active in the Farm Bureau. Evelyn was a member of the Extension Homemakers for many years.

Surviving are her four daughters; two sisters-in-law {names omitted for privacy}; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Greg.

Evelyn was a tireless caregiver for Greg in their later years. She took over more of the yard work, including their many fruit trees and rose bushes, of which they both were very proud Evelyn reluctantly moved away from her beloved Florida to be with family as her health began to fail also. Both Evelyn and Greg are also missed by their beloved little schnauzer, Lil Bit.

Having shared 72 years of their lives in work and in play, Evelyn and Greg are now reunited for eternity in God's glorious Kingdom. Mom was always a great letter writer and more recently, loved the challenge of e-mailing. Their family enjoyed having them back in Wisconsin for the last six months.

The funeral mass for Clemens Ecker, 63, of R. 3, Chilton, was held Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Stockbridge.

The Rev. William Willinger, pastor of St. Mary Church, was celebrant of the requiem mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

A director and vice president of Calumet Memorial Hospital and a director of the State Bank of Stockbridge, and a member of Calumet County Board of Supervisors, Mr. Ecker died Thurs., Apr. 29 of an apparent heart attack at his home.

The son of the late Peter and Anna Gillis {sic: Gilles} Ecker was born on Aug. 15, 1907 in the Town of Stockbridge, where he was town chairman for 20 years.

A lifetime area resident, he was a member of the Calumet County Board of Supervisors since 1957 and was current chairman of its handicapped children�s board; its building committee for Calumet County Homestead and its salary and personnel committee.

Mr. Ecker married Madeline Popp on Nov. 13, 1937, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Jericho. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and of its Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters; a son {names omitted for privacy}; two brothers, William of Chilton and Gregory of Malone; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Buttler of San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Gene Neu of Play-Del-Ray, Calif. and Mrs. Leander Daun of Chilton, and five grandchildren.

Leo W. Ecker, 59, of 389 East Second street, died suddenly at his home Thursday night. He was born in Stockbridge on Nov. 4, 1902.

On June 7, 1926, Mr. Ecker was married to Ruth Hemauer at New Holstein. He was employed in Fond du Lac by the Merwin Oil company.

Survivors are the widow; two sons: {name omitted for privacy} and David, Richmond, Va.; three brothers, Clement, William and Gregory, all of Brothertown; three sisters, {name omitted for privacy}, Mrs. Eugene, New Venice, Calif., and Mrs. Edward Bulter, San Mateo, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Uecker-Witt Funeral home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary�s church, the Rev. Henry A. Maurer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services for Leo W. Ecker, who died Thursday were at 8:30 a.m. today at the Uecker-Witt Funeral home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary�s church, the Rev. Edward Theisen officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jay Jorgenson, Virgil Sinotte, Elroy Ecker, John Daun, Ben Faber, and Richard Merwin. Out-of-town persons attended from Richmond, Va., Chilton, and Calumet Harbor.

Mrs. Ruth Ecker, 83, formerly of Fond du Lac, died Thurs., Nov. 30, 1989, at Manitowoc Healthcare Center.

She was born March 16, 1906, in Stockbridge, a daughter of John and Mathilda Franz Hemauer. She later married Leo Ecker.

Mrs. Ecker was a member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, {name omitted for privacy}, and David of Manitowoc; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Esther Thielen of Manitowoc.

Preceding her in death were her husband in April 1962, and one grandson.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary�s Catholic Church. The Rev. Peter Drenzek will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place.

Twohig Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Anna Eckes, 76, Hayton, died at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, at 2:45 p.m. Friday, where she had been a patient for three months. She was in ill health for seven years.

She was born in the Town of Charlestown on April 13, 1883, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hanke. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Martin's Catholic Church, Charlestown.

She was married to Fred Eckes on Jan. 26, 1909, at St. Martin's. They celebrated their golden wedding this year.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Aloys at home; a daughter, Mrs. Ervin {Ermina} Boll, Hayton; three brothers, August Hanke of Kiel, John of Fond du Lac and Louis of Sheboygan; three sisters, Mrs. Max Eckes and Mrs. Henry Keller, both of St. Cloud, and Mrs. Peter Reisterer, St. Nazianz; and one grandchild, Mrs. Willard {Joan} Brost, Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, and at 10 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church. The Rev. Arnulf Buck, SDS, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
