At the home of her son, John B. Kellett in the village of Hilbert, on Sunday, July 23, 1899, Mrs. Emily Kellett, aged 58 years, widow of J. H. Kellett, deceased.

Mrs Kellett was performing domestic duties about the house when she was suddenly stricken down with a stroke of paralysis, expiring a few hours after the first attack. About eight years ago she and her husband moved from Neenah to a farm in the north part of Chilton town where she resided until last spring, and then took up her residence in Hilbert. She was a lady held in high esteem by all her aquaintances, a kind and obligating neighbor, a devoted mother to her children, and one of God's noblest women. She leaves behind three children and many friends to mourn her death. Her remains were interred in the cemetery at Neenah, on Tuesday.

On Wednesday noon Peter Keuler, one of the respected citizens of the town of Brothertown, passed away at the age of 60 years, after an illness of three months, from consumption.

The deceased was born in Germany April 9, 1845. He came to America in 1857 and located in the town of Marytown. In 1870 he was married to Francis Reinl and the same year they moved onto a farm in the town of Brothertown. He was a man of excellent character and a devout member of the Catholic church. The funeral will be held today from the Charlesburg church of which he was a member. He leaves, besides a widow, four sons and six daughters to mourn his death.

Death has visited our midst and carried from among our people, a noble woman.

On Monday evening last, April 4th, Mrs. Ann King died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo, P. McKenny in Stockbridge, after a brief illness. A few weeks ago she was apparently in good health but was taken ill with the grippe, which caused her death. Mrs. King was born in the county of Carlow, Ireland, June 24, 1826. She remained in her native land until 1845, when she came to America. In 1853 she was married to James King and in 1858 moved to the town of Rantoul, this county, where she remained until a few years ago, when she moved to this city with her husband, who died shortly afterwards. She was a devout christian and a member of the Mother church. She was a kind and loving wife and mother a true friend and neighbor, and her many acts of charity and good doing will long be remembered. She leaves one son and six daughters to mourn her death. The funeral took place from St. Mary's church, Stockbridge, on Thursday, and the remains were followed to their resting place in the St. Augustine cemetery in this city by mourning relatives, friends and neighbors.

Stockbridge - Jan 10, Died At the home of his brother, at Gladsone, Mich., on Jan 5., Glenn Allen Kurker, aged 21 years

The young man whom the cruel hand of death has taken from among his friends was born in Stockbridge. He was the son of the late J. L. Kurker. He spent his boyhood days here and made friends with everybody by his manly ways. He was always pleasant and agreeable to those with whom he came in contact and was a special favorite with young and old. A few years ago he went to Gladstone where he accepted a position and retained it until his illness compelled him to resign. His remains were brought here for burial and were followed to their earthly resting place by a large concourse of mourning relatives. He leaves one brother O. V., to mourn his death.

Our town was thrown into excitement Sunday morning between seven and eight o'clock when it was reported that Hans Kramer had hanged himself, and we gathered the following facts concerning the sad affair. It seems that Mr. Kramer has been in poor health for some time and about three weeks ago resigned his office as street commissioner. About this time it became know that Mr. Kramer was suffering from a mental ailment but it was hoped that with a rest from his official duties and good medical treatment that he would soon recover and be himself again, but such was not the case as his ailment had advanced in such a stage that neither rest nor medical aid had the desired effect.

It seems that after breakfast Sunday morning, Mr. Kramer had retired to the porch and talked for some time when he suggested that they do the chores, and while his wife was busy in the cellar he retired to the barn and went up to the loft and fastened a rope so as to swing himself off and make sure the job was well done. When his wife had completed the work in the house she looked for Mr. Kramer but failed to find him either in the front or the back yard, then went to the barn and did not then discover him.

After another diligent search outside she returned to the barn and looking into the loft discovered what he had done, all which had transpired in about 20 minutes. Mr. Kramer had the respect and confidence of all the people of Holstein/ was a kind and affectionate husband and father, and the bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. Hans Kramer was born in Schleswig Holstein, Germany, in 1845, and came to America in 1865 and located in New Holstein.

In 1867 he was married to Sophia Zapp of New Holstein, Wis. One daughter was born to this union. In 1884 he came to Ida county and bought a farm north of town, lived on it two years, sold the farm and moved into Holstein where he has since resided, and for the past six years held the office of street commissioner. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Turner hall and the remains were buried in the Holstein cemetery. He leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. Carl Lamp, also two sisters and two brothers in Wisconsin one sister living here, Mrs. H. H. Peterson, to mourn his loss.-The Holstein {Ida county Ia.} Advance.

Died - Quietly fell asleep in Jesus, at Oshkosh, Wis., January 17, 1891, Abram Kisner, aged 69 years.

He was born in the state of New York, where he lived until 1856, when he came to Wisconsin and settled in Brothertown, Calumet Co. He moved from there to Randolph, Dodge Co., where he resided a few more years, and then came to Waushara Co., and finally settled in the town of Oasis, where he lived until just prior to his death. He died at the State Hospital, with softening of the brain. He was taken there last June for care and treatment. In 1871 he and his wife, who is now sleeping, accepted the truths of the third angel's message, to which he continued faithful, looking forward to that which Paul speaks of in 29 min {sic} 4:78, expecting to receive the crown of righteousness. He was the father of five children, four of whom are still living. May the blessing of God rest upon the fatherless, and grant that they, too, may have part in the first resurrection. Funeral services were held at the Seventh Day Adventist church in the town of Deerfield, Waushara Co., Wis., January 21st, at one p.m. Remarks by the writer, from Rev. 14:13. --W.H. Thurston

In Chilton on Thursday, February 11th 1864, Grace Kennedy, aged 28 years.

The deceased was esteemed and beloved by all who knew her, and although a severe sufferer from a painful disease, she bore her afflictions with the meekness and resignation of a true Christian. Her remains were followed to their last resting place by the largest concourse of people ever assembled, on a similar occasion, in this county.

In this village, on Friday morning Nov 10, 1865, Albert Key, aged 28 years.

At the breaking our of the rebellion the deceased was one of the first to enlist in old Co. K, of the 4th regiment, and continued to discharge the duties of a soldier to the satisfaction of his officers and comrades until stricken down by disease and was honorable discharged from the service. A short time after his returning home he was selected Town Clerk, and by re election was kept in that office until his decease. He made a very efficient Clerk and gave general satisfaction to his fellow citizens. As a friend and neighbor he was honorable, courteous and accommodating. Since his return from the army he has never been in good health and his sufferings at times have been terrible, but with true Christian meekness he never grumbled or complained, but waited with patience and resignation the will of Him who doeth all things well. His death is universally regretted in the community.

Death of Ex-Treasurer Kuehn -- It is with deep grief that we learn just as we go to press, of the death of Hon. Chas. Kuehn, banker, who suddenly expired in a fit of apoplexy Thursday morning, at his residence midway between here and Two Rivers.

We have not time to say much on this melancholy occasion, nor have we the inclusion, so sudden is the announcement. Yesterday he was among us in full health and strength. Today he is a corpse. He was a good man, and held prominent positions in county and state affairs, at one time being state treasurer.

We shall miss him from our midst. In our next issue we shall endeaver to do justice to his memory-Manitowoc Pilot Nov. 3.

Joseph Kahn, 53, prominint Chilton merchant, died Sunday morning at Mount Sinai hospital, Milwaukee, where he had been a patient since Friday.

Mr. Kahn, while in poor health four years, continued to supervise operation of department stores in Chilton and Plymouth. He went to Milwaukee late last week to consult a specialist who ordered him moved to a hospital at once.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at Chilton under Masonic auspices.

The body was taken to Chicago, where rites will be held Turesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Piser funeral home.

Mr. Kahn was born in Russia in 1886 and at the age of 20, came to New York city. Later he located to Chicago and took up the mercantile business. In 1927, he came to Chilton to establish the Farmers' Exchange store. In 1936 he established a store in Plymouth.

Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Bensman of Milwaukee, Mrs. Leo Brodsky, of Plymouth; two sons Albion and Leo, both of Chilton; and two grandchildren.

Claus Kleist, senior, died at Rantoul on the 31 inst., He was 70 years old and his death was deeply regretted by a large number of relatives and friends.

Man Killed - John Kuntz aged 50 years, of Harrison, this county who resided near the Catholic church in Buchanan, Outagamie county, on Saturday last, died-his death being caused by a gun shot wound in the head had whether he came to his death by accident or design is a question that agitates a number of minds. The circumstances as we gather them are as follows: About a year ago while Kuntz and a neighbor were chopping the latter was killed by a falling tree or limb and since then Kuntz on several occasions acted "queer" and on Saturday morning he arose early, took his fun, visited the bedside of his half grown son, looked at him with "fixed" eyes and then went out doors. The son hastily dressed himself with the intention of following; but when putting on his last boot he heard a report of the gun and rushing to the spot found that the charge entered his father's head under the chin and that death was instantaneous. A coroner's jury was summoned and the decided that it was an accidental case; while others claim that his verdict was rendered because a suicides body can not be interned in consecrated ground.

On Friday afternoon, Nov. 10, 1905, Mrs. Patrick King died at the home of her son-in-law, E. J. Mooney, at the age of 87 years.

Mary Dolan was born in the county Roscommon, Ireland, in 1818. In the early thirties she came to America and in Massachusetts. In 1845 she was married to Patrick King. Nine years later they came to Wisconsin and located on a farm in the town of Rantoul, this county, where she and her husband remained until some eight months ago when they came to this city to make their home with their daughter, Mrs E. J. Mooney. For some years she has been in feeble health and has been looked after by her relatives. She was a woman who was held in high regard by those who knew her. During the early days of this section of Wisconsin her home was the gathering place of the sturdy pioneers of those days and she was known far and wide for her hospitality and generosity. She was a loving wife and companion, a devoted mother, a kind and obligating neighbor and a sincere and devout Christian. She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic church and when able to attend services regularly. She leaves besides her aged husband three daughters. Mrs. John Forkin, Mrs. Mich. Price, and Mrs. E. J. Mooney. The funeral took place Monday forenoon and was largely attended. The remains were laid at rest in St. Augustine's cemetery.

On Saturday of last week Mrs. M. J. Lovett received notice of the death of her niece, Mrs. J. H. Kersten, which occurred at her home at Kewantee, Ill., Friday, Oct 6. Many of her friends here had heard of Mrs. Kersten's serious illness but they were not prepared for the sad message of her death which followed so soon after. The deepest regret for her passing and heartfelt sympathy for her bereft husband and children is expressed by everyone.

Mary Robinson Kerston was born in this city March 25, 1868. She was the second daughter of the late James Robinson, a prominent pioneer of Chilton, and the greater portion of her life was spent here. She was married to John H. Kersten in 1887 and continued to reside here until 1890 when Mr. Kersten engaged in the mercantile business at Kewanee, Ill., and moved his family to that city. During her residence in Chilton the deceased was one of out most popular young women. She was bright and talented being specially gifted as a musician, and was the life and center of every social gathering. She was a devout Catholic and an exemplary Christian wife and mother, and in her new home of Kewanee she soon became equally prominent and beloved as the following clipping from her death notice in The Kewaunee Star-Courier will show:--Upon coming to Kewanee, Mrs. Kersten, who was one of the prominent musicians of the city, accepted the position of organist at the Visitation church. Which position she filled most creditably for nine years. She was also organist for the Eastern Star, Tribe of Ben Hur and Woman's Relief corps, she being an active and prominent member of all these organizations. The Altar Society of the Visitation church also numbered Mrs. Kersten among its honored members.

Last November Mrs. Kersten moved to Beaumont, Texas, where her husband was employed, hoping that the change would benefit her health. She returned several months ago and since then her condition grew steadily worse until death ended suffering. She was a dutiful wife and kind mother and an obliging friend and these traits won the large circle of friends who are mourning her passing.

Besides the husband, Mrs. Kersten is survived by one sister, Mrs. F. A. Thayer, of Beloit, Wis. who is at present in the city, and two sons, Robinson and Harold. Funeral services was conducted by Rev. Father D. J. Crowe at visitation Church, Monday morning at 9 o'clock. A number of the organizations to which Mrs. Kersten belonged attended the service in a body. Burial was at Mt. Olive cemetery.

Died, at his home in this village of bronchial pneumonia, Mr. Thomas J. Kelly, at 2:45 a.m. Feb. 3rd. the deceased has been in the employ of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad for the past twelve years and up to the 25th ult., when he was taken sick, was conductor on the branch between here and Appleton. He was born at Lake Forest Ill., 1860, married Miss Katie Hayes in November 1883 who survives him, also five children. Thos. Jr., Claude, Nellie, Katheryn and Giles. Mr. Kelly was a good citizen and an exemplary husband and father, always willing to uphold what he believed to be right and a sincere friend. He was a member of the B. of R. R. Conductors, Knights of Pythias and Foresters. The funeral will be held from St. Mary's Catholic church here Friday morning at 10 o'clock. The family has the sympathy of a large circle of friends who mourn the loss of a good man.

Rose Koenigs, 91, a resident of Calumet Homestead, New Holstein, for the past six months, died peacefully Thursday morning, June 20, 2002 at the Calumet Medical Center, Chilton.

She is the former Rose Steffes, born Feb. 16, 1911, in St. Joe, a daughter of the late Herman and Gertrude Pickart Steffes. Rose at tended St. Joseph's Catholic School, St. Joe.

On May 4, 1932, she married Walter Koenigs at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joe. Walter preceded her in death on March 13, 1978.

The couple lived in rural St. Cloud until 1965 when they moved to the Town of New Holstein area. Rose was a cook at various restaurants in the New Holstein area. She also was a volunteer at Salvatorian Center, New Holstein and St. Vincent De Paul, Kiel. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and the Kiel Senior Citizens. Rose en joyed quilting, cooking and baking. Survivors include six daughters, Louella {Thomas} Ausloos of Crivitz, Barbara {Ernest} Merten of Mt. Calvary, Marilyn {Lee} Alley of Fond du Lac, Judy {Eugene} Winkel of New Holstein, Jacqueline {Roger} Anderson of Fond du Lac and Sue {Ron} Fox of Plymouth; four sons, John {Lynn} Koenigs, Black Creek, Paul {Kathy} Koenigs of Fond du Lac, James Koenigs of New Holstein and Peter {Sue} Koenigs of New Holstein; 42 grandchildren and 38 great-grand children. She is further survived by one brother, Victor {Marion} Steffes of St. Joe, and three sisters, Ann Koenigs of Fond du Lac, Alice Heus of Marytown and Corrine {John} Enders of St. Cloud. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, one great- granddaughter, one sister, and three sons-in-law.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2002, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys, S.D.S., officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the Meisel witz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m., when brief family rites will be held. A memorial has been estab lished for SS Peter & Paul Catholic School.

Hilbert

Age 93, died Friday, September 6, 2002. Ia was a widow of Cher lue Hang. She raised nine children, there were seven boys and two girls. Unfortunately, her husband a CIA Agent of the U.S. was killed during the Vietnam Era in 1961, during the first battle. Three of her oldest sons, also CIA Agents for the U.S. were killed during the war. This made her life very difficult. She decided not to remarry so she could devote herself to her children. She was a strong and loving woman as well as self sufficient. She stayed with her oldest son until her youngest son married and then she moved to stay with her youngest son until the end of her life. This is Hmong Leeg's tradition. She stayed with John Vung Hang, the youngest son, from 1976 to 2002. During the time she stayed with her two youngest sons then her life became much better.

Age 89, died on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born November 1, 1912 in the Town of Chilton; son of the late Joseph - Anna {Meyers} Keuler. Reuben married Loretta A. Geiser on November 8, 1939 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Charlestown. He farmed in the Town of Chilton all of his life until 1978 when his son took over the farm. Reuben was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton, Holy Name Society, 3rd Order of St. Francis, Eucharistic Minister for many years, and worked with St. Vincent DePaul Society, Calumet County Holstein Breeders Association where he was selected as Farmer of the Year in 1975, Calumet County Farm Bureau and a member of the Skat Club.

Survivors include his wife Loretta; ten children: Paul {Jane} Keuler, Milwaukee; Raymond {Monica} Keuler, Chilton; Joan {Ed} Laird, Sussex; Karen {Robert} Mand, Green Bay; Kenneth {Renee} Keuler, Thiensville; Helen {Michael} Miller, Milwaukee; Stephen {Jeanne} Keuler, Chilton; Anthony {Marcia} Keuler, Cedarburg; David {Lynne} Keuler, New Berlin; Todd {Pam} Teske, Clintonville; 16 grandchildren: Dorothy, Paul, Mike, Kevin, Sara, Christine, Jennifer, Alex, Nick, Emily, Scott, Elizabeth, Nathan, J.D., Kayla, and Aaron; two great-grandchildren, Kyra and Kimberly; two sisters: Margaret {Herman} Selk, New Holstein; and Clara Coffeen, Chilton. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sr. Cleta and Sr. Niceta; and seven brothers: Roman, Herman, Joseph, Alphonse, Edward, Leo, and John.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton with the Rev. Gary New, S.D.S. officiating. Burial will be in Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St. in Chilton from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 and on Wednesday at church from 10:00 until the time of service. There will be a parish prayer service on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Andrew L. Korb, age 66, of N2161 Hwy. 151 in Brothertown, died on Sunday, September 1, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.

He was born Feb. 28, 1936 in Marytown, son of the late Gottfried and Estelle {Jacky} Korb. Andrew married Virginia M. Lisowe on Aug. 17, 1957 at Holy Cross Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. He worked for Kohler Co., American Diabetes Foundation, and Phoenix Design and Construction of Fond du Lac. He and his wife owned and operated the Hi-Way Bar in Brothertown for 33 years. Andrew was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Jericho, Brothertown Fishing Club, Vintage Steel Club of Calumetville and loved hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; four children, Barbara {Paul} Boehnlein of Stockbridege, Beverly {Greg} Fesing of Chilton, Cynthia {Jeff} Matznick of Mt. Calvary, and Brenda {Jack} Patenaude of Stockbridge; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Korb of Marytown; two sisters Mary Ann {James} Schaefer of Mt. Calvary, Judy {Tony} Mathes of Chilton; one half-brother Claude {Nida} Jacky of California; and two hunting and fishing buddies Emil Doerr and Jay Atherton. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents Gottfried and Estelle and a sister-in-law Geraldine Korb.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho with Rev. Glen Sayers S.D.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the Weiting Funeral Home {411 W. Main St.} in Chilton from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4 and on Thursday at church from 10:00 until the time of services. There will be a parish prayer service on Wed. evening at 7:30 PM at the Funeral Home.

Age, 91 died on September 7, 2002. He was born on March 23, 1911 in Colby, Wisconsin, the son of Charles and Rose {Miller} Kesler. He married Virginia McMunn on October 17, 1939 in Chilton, Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife, Ginny; sons: Roger {Pat}; Dennis {Barb}; Don {Diane}; Duane, Bob {Lucy}; Dean {Michele}; daughters: Dianne {Paul} Ruhland; Joyce {Dan} School; Ginny {Harly} Wincentsen; Carol {Jim} Marois; Karen {Joe} Franczek; Janice {Bernie} Schmidt; 42 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine {William} Schacht; a brother-in-law, Rueben McMunn, a sister-in-law, Doris McMunn.

He was preceded in death by a son, Carl, a grandchild and one great-grandchild.

He lived in the Wisconsin Rapids and Chilton area before purchasing a farm in rural Hilbert, where they farmed until his retirement. He served on the Calumet County Civil Defense and Deputy Sheriff departments for many years, he was active in the Pure Milk Products and AMPI, he served on the Bryan and Hilbert School District Boards.

During his retirement years he enjoyed yard work, fishing, building bird houses, benches, and any other projects his children requested. He has always helped his children by doing repairs or odd jobs for them.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 11. Visitation is at 9:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, St. John. Weiting Funeral Home, Brillion will be handling the arrangements. Memorials made be made to the St. Paul Elder Care Dementia Unit, Kaukauna.

Chilton- Funeral services for Mrs. William Kuster, who died suddenly Monday afternoon, will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home, and at 2 o'clock at The Reformed church, the Rev. Edmund Hennig to officiate. Interment will be in Hillside cemetery.

Mrs. Kuster, who was 84 at the time of her death, was born Dec. 18, 1858, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Michael Schroeder. She was later married to William Kuster who died in 1937. She was a member of the Reformed church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Herman {Hulda} Nehlson of Chicago, Mrs. Ray {Bertha} Oakley of Hilbert, and Mrs. Bruno Michael, Chilton; eight grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; and one half brother, Emil Schroeder, Sheboygan. One daughter, Mrs. Albert Kuhlman, and two sisters preceded her in death.

Marie L. Krueger age 82 of 210 S. Parkway Dr. in Brillion died on July 29, 2003 at Calumet Homestead in New Holstein. She was born on June 12, 1921 in Hilbert, daughter of the late Frank & Mary {Fuchs} Siegwarth. Marie married Clarence Krueger on September 17, 1940 at St. John Catholic Church in St. John. She and Clarence farmed on the family homestead until their retirement in 1986. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1989. Marie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert. She is survived by 5 children; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 1 sister. She is further survived by Nieces, Nephews other relatives and friends. Marie was also preceded in death by a grandson and a brother. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon on Saturday August 2, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert with the Rev. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial will follow in Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Chilton from 9:00 � 11:30 AM when family prayers will be held. Mrs. P.J. Keuler, mother of Joseph Keuler of this city, died at the home of her son Anton, in Kiel, on Thursday afternoon. Funeral today at 10 o'clock. Remains will be interred at Jericho.

Last week's issue of the Times announced the death of Mrs. Theresa Keuler, which occurred at the home of her son, in Kiel, June 23.

Theresa Wettstein was born in Germany, December 31, 1834. She came to America with her parents in the early fifties and located in Marytown, where in 1856 she was married to Peter J. Keuler. In 1891 she came to Brothertown and remained there until one year ago when she moved to Kiel.

The funeral took place on Saturday last the remains being conveyed to Jericho and laid at rest beside her husband who died in 1898.

Mrs. Keuler was a devout member of the Catholic church and was known far and near for her generosity and kindly acts.

She leaves two sons, Anton and Joseph, and two daughters, Mesdames Andrew Sutner and Louis Wolf, to mourn her death.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the St. James Lutheran church for Charles Kiesow, 44, who dropped dead while loading gravel at the Northwestern tracks, Thursday morning. A heart attack is believed to have caused his sudden death.

Born at Chilton

The deceased was born in Chilton on August 17, 1886 where he spent his boyhood life. July 14, 1921 he was united in marriage to Gertrude Crego at Oshkosh following which the couple came to Belle Plaine where they located on a small farm of twenty acres. Mr. Kiesow was in the gravel business, having a supply shipped in and trucking it to his various customers. It was while loading gravel onto one of his trucks that he dropped dead. Truman Balke was assisting him and summoned aid but to no avail. Surviving are his wife, daughter Ione and son Harvey, and his father Gust Kiesow of Racine. Two brothers, William of Watertown, Gust of Jacksonville Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Amelia Duchow, Collins, Wi., Mrs. Anna Smith, Emma Kiesow, Racine, and Mrs. Ida Nielson, Glenside, Pa. also survive.

Burial Monday

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. N. P. Uhlig at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and interment followed at the Woodlawn cemetery. Archie DeSwarte, Earl Parker, Ernest Ziemer, Carl Rusch, Truman Balke and Mr. Randorf were the pallbearers.

Edwin Kersten, a veteran of over 32 years, has retired. Ed started on September 25, 1939 and in 1940 became a painter; in 1943 he started in the construction area. Edwin A. Kersten, 725 W. Grand St., age 60, passed away late Friday after a long illness. He was born August 22, 1911 in the town of Harrison and was a Kaukauna resident most of his life. Mr. Kersten was employed as a carpenter at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company from 1939 until his retirement in August of 1971. He was a member of the Thilmany Quarter Century Club. Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Allen {Carol} Stankiak, Appleton; Miss Mary Kersten, Menasha; one brother: Paul, Rt. 4, Kaukauna; four sisters: Mrs. Clem {Ceil} Nabbefeld and Mrs. Bertha Bloch, both of Appleton; Mrs. Edwin {Dorothy} Van Dyke, Kaukauna, Mrs. Orville {Margaret} Spaulding, Menasha, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Rev. Charles Fredericks will officiate. Paul H. Kersten, Parkside Care Center, Little Chute, age 73, died Friday, October 20, 1995 at Parkside Care Center. He was born October 23, 1921 in Sherwood, son of the late John and Anna {Scherer} Kersten. Paul was a World War II veteran and served in the European Theatre. He had been employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper as a pipe fitter for 39-1/2 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed card playing, especially a good game of cribbage. During his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and his grandchildren. He was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Quarter Century Club of Thilmany. He is survived by two daughters and dons-in-law: Karen and Robert Dorn, Appleton; Lisa and David Pilkington, Gurnee, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Beth Kersten Gorske, Schofield; four grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel and Nicholas Dorn, and Colin Pilkington; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Van Dyke, Kaukauna, Bertha {Bloch} Effa, Little Chute, Margaret and Orville Spaulding, Menasha. He is also survived by his wife's brothers and sisters, Victor McDaniel, James {Betty} McDaniel, Margaret {Lyle} Kaufman, Jane {David} George, Dona {sic} McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; a son, Jon; a granddaughter, Rebecca Pilkington; a brother, Ed {Jane} Kersten; a sister, Ceil {Clem} Nabbefeld; three brothers-in-law, Ed Van Dyke, Aloy Bloch and Joe Effa. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1995 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Father John Hephner officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at: Greenwood-Fargo Funeral Home, 500 Hendricks Ave., Kaukauna from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until the cortege leaves for the church. Gerald A. "Jerry" Kersten of Appleton, age 74, died Monday morning, November 10, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born June 20, 1929 in Outagamie County; the son of August and Elsie Gust Kersten. Jerry was a life long resident of the Appleton area and will be remembered by his family and friends as a person who enjoyed taking care of other people, traveling, playing Santa Claus, playing cribbage, and as a person who had a fondness for animals. He taught his family the value of hard work by spending years as a self-employed truck driver.

Jerry will be missed by his wife Linda; children: Wally Weirnik of Appleton, Pam and Richard Klassen of Menasha, Wayne and Karin Kersten of Appleton, Briand and Jeanette Kersten of New Richmond, Michelle and Glen Roy of Neenah and Kevin and Lisa Flowers of Chilton; 16 great grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Jerry is further survived by his sister Lorraine and Tony Evers of Little Chute; brother Merlin and Sue Kersten of Appleton; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Rueben Hoelzel of Menasha; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wayne, and his daughter-in-law Ellen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Lakewoods Christian Center, 800 N. Superior St., Appleton from 4 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Brake officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

Wallace "Wally" O. Karsteadt, 82, formerly of Rockville, {Kiel} died Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2004, at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton, where he was a patient for one day. He had been a resident of Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, since spring of 2003.

He was born April 1, 1922, in the town of Meeme, son of the late Harry and Frieda Rautmann Karsteadt. Wally served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European-African Middle Eastern Theater.

On Aug. 6, 1966, Wally married Evelyn M. Peterson in Superior. She preceded him in death on Sept. 1, 1988.

Wally worked for a number years for Ehnert & Sons Silo, Inc., Kiel, and retired from Gilson Bros., Plymouth.

He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Kiel, a lifetime member of the Kiel VFW Post 6707 and a former member of the Kiel Redmen and the Kiel Senior Citizens.

He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting and was a Packer fan.

Survivors include his children, Elizabeth Drews {James} Wieck of Kiel, and Dennis {Marlene Rhodes} Peterson of Superior; four grandchildren, Michael Peterson of Superior, Brian Peterson of Eau Claire, Steven {Julie Dotin} Drews of Naperville, Ill., and Lisa Drews of Kiel; and one sister, Julie Firkus, Abbottsford. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Karsteadt; four sisters, Marion Winter, Gloria Henning, Glendora Brocker and Virginia Retlich; and son-in-law, Donald Drews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10 at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 Sixth St., Kiel, with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating. Burial will take place in the Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.

Death of Alfred K�hl, the 21-yr. old son of Henry K�hl in New Holstein, who shot himself Tues. morning, 05 Dec., in his father's barn. The young man had been in generally good health. The reasons for his action are unknown.

Hermann Kuehn, a resident of Brillion, threw himself in front of a locomotive in Fond du Lac Thurs. last week and was run over and killed. Family members indicate he was suicidal.

The well-attended funeral took place Sun. in the Town Rantoul Cemetery. The deceased served the town as a Justice of the Peace and reached the age of 55. He is survived by his widow and 11 children.

Death on Sun. of 30 yr. old August Krueger of neuritis. The funeral will take place tomorrow, Wed., at the Evangelical Church where he belonged, with interment in the village cemetery. He leaves a widow and 3 children.

Mrs. F.P. Knauf, long-time Kiel resident, died at the home of a daughter in Pittsburgh, Pa. Monday. She was 75 years old. She had made her home in Pittsburgh since 1954. She lived in Kiel for 50 years.

A native of Ireland, Mrs. Knauf was born September 8, 1881. She came to this country in 1899 and married Dr. Knauf in Chicago. They moved to Kiel in 1904 after living two years in New Holstein.

Funeral services will be held this morning, Thursday, at 10 o'clock at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic church. The Rev. George Kiefer will be the celebrant of the mass. Burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery in Chilton.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Howard L. Spindler of Darien, Connecticut, and Mrs. Preston V. McMurry of Pittsburgh; a son, Dr. F.A. Knauf of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Grealy of Dublin, Ireland, and a half brother, John of Oxford, England.

Cora Krueger, 6-yr. old daughter of Charles Krueger in Brillion got too close to a trash fire Tues., her clothes caught fire, and she suffered such severe burns that she died yesterday morning.

A funeral Mass was celebrated this morning for Florence Keuler, 77, of 128 School St., Chilton, who died Friday at Calumet Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. Robert Casper was celebrant of the Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Chilton. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

The former Florence Mangan was born Jan. 21, 1910, in the Town of Chilton, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Koehn Mangan.

On April 18, 1927, she married Nicholas Keuler at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Chilton.

She was deputy clerk of courts and appointed Clerk of Courts for Calumet County, and was a radio operator for the Calumet County Sheriff's Department.

Mrs. Keuler was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers Society.

Survivors include her husband: a daughter, Jeanette Boll of Chilton; three sons, Leonard of Milwaukee, and Leo and Jerome, both of Chilton; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Genevieve Kappell of Appleton, and Dorothy Ziegelbauer of Fond du Lac; and four brothers, Clarence Mangan of Sheboygan, Richard Mangan of Kiel, Gilbert Mangan of New Holstein, and Leonard Mangan of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

Ervin M. Keuler, 77, of W3295 Hwy. 151, Chilton, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 1990 at the Calumet Medical Center, in Chilton.

He was born on July 1, 1913 in the Town of Chilton, son of the late Anton and Barbara Schmidlkofer Keuler.

He was married to Irmina Buechel on June 10, 1941 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Jericho. He had farmed in the Town of Chilton all of his life and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Chilton.

Survivors include his wife, Irmina; one daughter, Eileen Keuler, Chilton; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Leroy and Jane Keuler, Camirillo, CA; Michael Keuler, Chilton; Thomas and Nyla Keueler, Ripon; Gerard and Lisa Keuler, Oshkosh; two grandsons, Clinton and Matthew; one step-granddaughter, Susan Strine; one step-great-granddaughter; one sister, Lucille Schmid, Chilton; one brother, Bruno Keuler, Charlesburg. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Irmina L. Keuler, 81, of the Chilton Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of W3295 Highway 151, Chilton, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1998, at the nursing home.

She was born on May 2, 1917 in Jericho, daughter of the late Jacob and Regina Petrie Beuchel.

She married Ervin M. Keuler on June 10, 1941 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1990. She had farmed with her husband in the Town of Chilton all of her life.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton, a member of the Christian Mothers, and a member of the Mission Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Eileen Keuler of Chilton; four sons, Leroy {Jane} Keuler of Camirillo, Calif., Michael Keuler of Chilton, Thomas {Nyla} Keuler of Ripon, Gerard {Lisa} Keuler of Oshkosh; three grandsons, Clinton, Matthew, and James; a step-granddaughter, Eric Strine; a sister, Marcella {Alfred} Geiser of Chilton; a brother, Alphonse {Theresa} Buechel of Chilton; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Schmid of Chilton and Eleanor Keuler of Charlesburg.

On Tuesday {Mar. 23} Peter Kraus died at his home on Baldwin Avenue at the age of fifty-five years, two months and twenty two days.

The deceased was born at Marytown, Fond du Lac county, and resided there until 1875 when he came to Chilton with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Kraus, who engaged in the hotel business. He assisted his parents in the hotel for several years and then worked at the marble and granite business for a few years, canvassing this county. He later sold farm implements. On Nov. 24, 1884, he was married to Gertrude Franzen and a few years later they located at Marshfield where Mr. Kraus acted as agent for the Pabst Brewing company of Milwaukee. He remained there about five years and then returned to this city. In August last he was taken ill with throat trouble and since that time gradually failed in health, but was able to be up and about town until some three weeks ago when he was obliged to remain in bed, since which time he failed rapidly and death came as a relief to his suffering. He was widely known throughout this section and was well liked for he had a way of making friends of all with whom he came in contact. He is survived by a widow, five sisters, Mrs. Peter Petersen, Mrs. Chas. X. Arps, Mrs. Jos. Hanert of this city, Mrs. Alfred Steffen of Sheboygan, Mrs. G.C. Kersten of Colby and two brothers, Math. J. Kraus of Fond du Lac and C. Joseph Kraus of Colby.

The funeral was held Friday morning from St. Augustine's Catholic church, Rev. Fr. L.N. Thelen officiating, with interment in St. Mary's cemetery.

Mrs. Louis Konz, aged 55, passed away Sunday at 10 p.m. at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan, where she had been confined for several days.

The deceased was born in the town of Rhine on March 3, 1886, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine Meyer Kleinhans. Her maiden name was Helena.

She was united in marriage with Louis Konz on November 27, 1906 and the couple immediately located in this city, where Mr. Konz is employed at the Stoelting Bros. Company.

Survivors are her husband; eight children, namely: Mrs. Armand {Eleanor} Bunge, Mrs. Jerome {Evelyn} Goebel and Lester of this city, Mrs. Jarold {Dorothy} Schuepferling, Miss Audrey, and Elmer of Milwaukee; Wilbert of New Holstein, and Elroy at home; six grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Katherine Kleinhans, aged 83, New Holstein; six brothers, William of California, Nicholas of St. Nazianz, Roman of New Holstein, Clarence of Quinney, Zeno of Milwaukee, and Frank of Hilbert; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Klauck and Mrs. Steve Nichols of New Holstein, and Mrs. John Stemper of Clintonville.

Funeral services were conducted this Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 9:30 a.m. at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church. Interment was made in the church cemetery. The deceased was member of the Altar and Christian Mothers' Society.

Alex Karls, Jr., cashier of the State Bank of Howards Grove, died Sunday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital, a victim of cancer. He was 32.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Sheboygan with the Rev. Cyril Volz, pastor, as celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

He had been cashier of the bank for 12 years, working there while still a student at Lakeland College. He also was a director of the Franklin Mutual Insurance Company.

A native of New Holstein, he had been living at 1611 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan, for the past year and one-half.

He was born August 1, 1936, the son of Alex and the late Teckla Karls, and was married to Geraldine Salm on June 14, 1958. They lived in St. Nazianz until moving to Sheboygan.

Mr. Karls attended SS. Peter and Paul Elementary School at Kiel and was graduated from Kiel High School. He graduated from Lakeland College in 1960.

He was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and the parish Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife; two children, his father, Alex Sr., five brothers, a sister, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruckner, Kiel. His mother died earlier this year.

Fredola A. Koehler, age 95, of the Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Chilton, died on Sunday, Dec. 11, 1998 at the Calumet Homestead.

She was born on Aug. 21, 1903 in Antigo, daughter of the late Bernard and Anna {Bennin} Lorenz. In infancy, she moved with her parents to Evart, Mich. At age 6, she and her family moved to Burbank, Ala., after living there nine years, they moved back to Chilton.

She married Clay H. Koehler on Aug. 21, 1922 at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Chilton, he preceded her in death on July 11, 1985.

She worked at the Foley Aluminum Specialty Company in Chilton She and her husband farmed in the Town of Charlestown for many years, and she worked at Chilton Metal Products until retiring in 1978. They moved to Beverly Hills, Fla., where they lived for 18 years until returning to Chilton. She lived in four different states where she came to know many many friends which she stayed in touch with over her lifetime.

She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Chilton, the Women�s Guild and a member of the former missionary society.

She enjoyed doing fancy quilt work, gardening, and visiting with her many dear friends.

Edmund Kliesch, 75, formerly of Route 1 Kiel, a resident of Calumet Homestead in New Holstein since February 1980, died Friday at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton.

He was born in Germany, March 29, 1905, a son of Robert and Martha Schubert Kliesch.

He attended schools in Germany and was a truck driver for Blatz Brewing Company, Milwaukee.

He married Caroline Bertsch July 31, 1934, in Sheboygan.

Survivors are his wife, one son, one daughter, seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held in the chapel of Calumet Homestead Monday.

Memorials in Mr. Kliesch�s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The body was cremated.

Nick M. Kampfer, 69, R. 3, Chilton, died Friday night at Calumet Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.

He was born on June 10, 1899 in the Town of Chilton, a son of the late George and Elizabeth Slater Kampfer.

On Nov 27, 1923, he married Veronica Joas at Stockbridge. The couple farmed in the Town of Chilton.

Mr. Kampfer was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish, Chilton and its Holy Name Society.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Franklin at home, and Jerome and Calude of Chilton; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald {Lucy} Cole, Bloomington, Minn., and Mrs. Joseph {Florence} Schlaefer, Chiliton; one brother, Joseph, R. 1, Chilton; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Weninger, R. 3, Chilton; and 19 grandchildren.

A requiem Mass for Mr. Kampfer will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chilton, with the Rev. Aloysius Knier, pastor, celebrant. Mass will follow brief family rites at 10 a.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Richard `Dick' M. Kaelin, Sr., age 76, of Oshkosh, died Sunday evening, June 13, 2004 at Aurora Medical Center.

Funeral services for Richard will be held TODAY, Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at 7 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral and Cremation Services, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Daniel Felton officiating. Marie `Bean' Kees, age 82, of N8328 Cty. Tk. BB, Hilbert, passed away on June 14, 2004 after suffering a major stroke in March. She was born September 8, 1921 in Dundas, daughter of the late Henry and Mary {Peters} Rademacher. On July 3, 1945, she married Herman Kees at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown.

Marie was a dedicated and active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John for almost 60 years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Catholic Knights. Marie was a founding member of St. John's adult choir for over 30 years and involved in countless masses, funerals, dinners and benefits held at St. John. She was active in the Daughters of Isabella and sang with the Extension Chords. A 1937 graduate of Kaukauna High School, Marie also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years. She loved gardening, bowling, golf, the Cubs and the Brewers, a good wash day and her writing. Her prose and poetry included three volumes of memoirs entitled “Scents of Humor” in which she described the humorous aspects of growing up during the Depression, several wars, and very large families. She gave of herself in service to many people and organizations in need during her lifetime including the New Hope Center of Calumet County. Her gifts of caring, strength, humor, liveliness, and service are irreplaceable and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Herman; six of her seven children: Betty {Keith} Uhlenbrauck, Darboy; Daniel {Terri} Kees, Sedalia, Missouri; Bill {Margo} Kees, Brillion; Nathalie Kees, Ft. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John with Father Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2004 and then at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Dorothy E. Kamke, age 84, formerly of Brillion, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002 at Rennes Health Care Center in De Pere.

She was born Sept. 15, 1917 in Wayside, daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret {Plautz} Schultz. She married Rupert Kamke on Oct. 2, 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church in Wayside. She farmed with her husband on the family homestead and held other part-time positions throughout her life. She was a member of St. John�s Lutheran Church in Woodville, the Ladies Aid, LWMS, the Brillion Senior Citizens, K.P. Homemakers Club and the Vision Seekers.

The many friends end relatives of Mrs. Michael L. Kees of St. John were shocked to learn of her sudden demise on Friday of last week. Hemorrhage of the brain is given as the cause, her sickness being of but one day duration.

Mrs. Kees is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Zepnick. She was born May 7, 1893, at St. Anna. She resided with her parents until her marriage to Michael Kees on June 14, 1917 when they made their home on a farm near St. John.

The funeral was held from the St. John church on Monday morning, Rev. Ruppold officiating with interment in the St. John cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her husband, three children: Adelbert 3 years; Herman 2 years; Reta 1 year; besides her parents and three brothers and five sisters.

Helen Krueger, age 94, of Reedsville, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at North Ridge Care Center in Manitowoc.

She was born on Feb. 6, 1913, in the town of Maple Grove, daughter of the late Otto and Tressie {Janke} Krueger. Helen was a member of St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Alfred and Ervin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at 1 p.m. at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. The Rev. Timothy Nommensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from noon until the time of service.

Victor Klapperich aged 28, son of John P. Klapperich, who resides near New Holstein, died at the St. Agnes hospital at Fond du Lac following an automobile crash early last Monday morning. He died of a brain concussion and internal injuries, physicians said, although he also suffered a double leg fracture and face and hand cuts. It was thought he fell asleep while at the wheel of his car, and then crashed into a concrete bridge at the side of County Trunk G, a half mile north of Marytown.

A passing motorist pulled him from the wreckage of his auto, and took him to a doctor, from where he was rushed to the hospital.

Victor was born November 28, 1912. He attended a parochial school and for four years was employed at the Chilton fox farm. Mr. Klapperich was engaged to be married this month.

Survivors are his father, John P. Klapperinch;{sic} one brother, Norbert at home, and two sisters, Mrs. F. Halbach of School Hill and Mrs. Augusta Schmidt of Brant. Funeral services were held at 9 a. m. Monday at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home at Chilton, and at 9:30 a. m. services were conducted at St. Mary�s Catholic church at Marytown, with the Rev. George Orth officiating.

Mrs. Elizabeth Konz, 62, wife of Joseph Konz of 1317 N. Thirteen street, passed away Sunday evening at 9:25 o�clock at St. Nicholas hospital after a lingering illness.

She was born Sept. 18, 1862, in town of Rhine, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Meyer. She attended parochial school at St. Anna. On Jan. 14, 1902, she was married to Joseph Konz at St. Ann�s church by the late Rev. Mr. Scheffen. After her marriage, she lived in the town of Russell until 1927 when she and her husband moved to Sheboygan. The couple had made their home here since that time.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Arno Matzen of New Holstein, Sister M. Romaine of the Franciscan sister, Holy Family convent, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Edward Brey, Hartford, Conn.; four sons, Armin, Sylvin, Alfred and Alex, all of Sheboygan; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Meyer, New Ulm, Minn.; Mrs. Nicholas Gregorie, Kiel, and Mrs. Joseph Turba, Sheboygan; two brothers, John Meyer of New Ulm, Minn., and Matthew Meyer of Chilton, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Ballhorn Funeral temple Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., and at 10 a.m. at St. Ann�s church, the Rev. Clemens Kern officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot at the church cemetery. Friends may view the body at the funeral temple beginning this evening.

Kiel relatives received the news on Tuesday of the demise of Jacob Kasper, which occurred at Potter that morning. Death was due to heart failure. Decedent was 77 years of age and had been a pioneer resident of Calumet county, living in the town of Rantoul up to eight years ago. He leaves his widow, two sons and six daughters. The funeral will take place at Potter on Friday. Mr. Kasper was a brother of Mrs. Aug. Lindner and Mr. Wm. Kasper, both deceased.

A shadow of grief was cast over the community on Tuesday morning, when it was learned that Mrs. Arthur Kestell had passed away at her home about 10 o'clock Monday evening. She leaves a heart-broken husband and seven small children to mourn her untimely death.

Louis P. Knier, 68, of 1627 N. 10th St., a retired employe of the Ebenreiter Lumber So., died Friday afternoon at his home.

Born in St. Nazianz on Aug. 12, 1895, he was a son of the late John and Mary Knier and attended St. Gregory's School in St. Nazianz. His marriage to Mary Gebhard was soleminized at St. Martin's Church at Charlestown on April 13, 1920.

They farmed near Kiel and St. Nazianz before coming to Sheboygan in 1948. Mr. Knier worked at the Ebenreiter Lumber Co., until his retirement in 1961.

He was a member of Holy Name Parish, the Holy Name Society, and Sheboygan Memorial Post 9156 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Knier was a veteran of World War I and the recipient of the Purple Heart award.

Mrs. Albert Krupp, 88, formerly of St. Anna, died Saturday night at Calumet Homestead Nursing Home, New Holstein, where she had lived for seven years.

The former Theresa Rott was born March 25, 1895, in Jericho, Calumet County, the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Kuenhl Rott.

On June 14, 1926, she was married to Carl Halfmann and the couple lived in St. Anna. Mr. Halfmann died in 1938.

She was then married to Albert Krupp on Oct. 25, 1944. They also lived in St. Anna.

Mrs. Krupp was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Anna. She was a charter member of the church�s Christian Mothers Society.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters; a son, 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a sister.

She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, three brothers and five sisters.

New Holstein - {Special} - Jacob Krebsbach, 73 died at St. Nicholas hospital, Sheboygan, Saturday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock. He had been ill two months.

He was born in Charlesburg, March 23, 1867, son of Anton and Mary Krebsbach. On Nov. 16, 1893, he married Sophia Winkel at Marytown.

They lived on a farm three and a half miles south of here, known as the Richard Winkel farm, and 24 years ago purchased the Stinus Aggen farm, where they lived since.

Survivors are the widow: one son, Erwin, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Steiner, Charlesburg; Rose and Ella, at home; three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Christ Daum and Mrs. Richard Winkel, New Holstein. Two brothers, Arnold and John, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at the residence, and at 9:30 o'clock at Holy Rosary Catholic church, the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. The body can be viewed at the home.

Kiel - Dr. F. P. Knauf, 69, for 46 years a practicing physician and surgeon at Kiel and vicinity, died suddenly at his home here, 628 Fremont street, at noon Wednesday.

News of his death will come as a shock to his many friends in Manitowoc, Calument, and Sheboygan counties where he was widely known. Apparently in good health Wednesday morning, he had looked after some patients at the hospital, but complained of not feeling well when he returned home. He decided to lie down for a rest, but when called later it was found he had passed away.

He was a member of the Kiel city park board for 24 years and only resigned from it just recently. Much of the planning for the beautification of Kiel is due to the earnest thought he gave to it in collaboration with other park board members. He was health officer at Kiel for many years and was also deeply interested in all social and civic affairs of the community in which he spent so many years of his life.

Dr. Knauf was born at Sheboygan on March 18, 1877, the son of Nicholas and Emilie Knauf. He lived at Brillion until 1880 and at Chilton until 1900.

He attended St. Mary�s parochial school, and Canisius college at Buffalo, New York, after which he began the study of medicine at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Chicago. He was graduated there with the class of 1900 and began the practice of medicine at New Holstein.

In 1903 he moved to Kiel where he formed a partnership with Dr. S. R. Sleyster until 1905 when he started conducting his own practice which he continued until the day of his death.

He was married at Chicago July 1, 1902 to Mary Cecilia Grealy, and there are two daughters, Mrs. Howard {Margaret} Spindler and Mrs. Preston {Katherine} McMurry, both of Mt. Lebanon, Pa., one son, Dr. Frederick A. Knauf of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren. Other survivors are four sisters, Mrs. L. A. Keller and Mrs. F. L. Krekel of Dowagiac, Mich., Mrs. F. E. Raiche and Miss Milly A. Knauf of Marinette; three brothers, William and Dr. N. J. Knauf of Chilton , and Dr. Arthur R. Knauf of Tampa, Fla.

He was a member of the St. Peter and Paul church at Kiel, American Medical association, Wisconsin Medical Society, Calumet County Medical society, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Knights, Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Kiel Association of Commerce.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter and Paul church at 9 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. F. X. Kheil officiating. Burial will be made at St. Mary�s cemetery at Chilton. The body may be viewed at the Meiselwitz Funeral home beginning this evening.

The Holy Name society of the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church of this will have the Rosary recitation at the church for the departed member on Friday evening at 7:30 o�clock p.m.

Mrs. Gertrude Koehn passed away at the home of her son-in-law, Robert Mangan, Chilton town at noon hour on Tuesday, Oct. 5th. Mrs. Koehn, who was living at Sherwood was taken ill in February last with heart trouble of a serious nature and came to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter. In July dropsy developed and she lost ground gradually until the end came. Mrs. Koehn, nee Gertrude Gilles, was born at Johnsburg, Fond du Lac county, on July 14, 1850. On May 20, 1870 she was united in marriage to Frank Koehn, also of Johnsburg and they settled in Northern Michigan where he husband followed mining. They remained there about ten years and then moved to Calumet county where they purchased property four miles south of Sherwood, known as Harrison Corners. They erected a building and conducted a grocery and saloon business. In August 1891 her husband was killed and she continued in the business until 1901 when she disposed of it and purchased a home at Sherwood, where she lived until February last. Mrs. Koehn was known throughout that section of the county as an excellent woman. She was competent and hard working, her entire life being given to raising and caring for her family of five children. She was a practical Christian, a member of the Catholic church and those who knew her intimately speak of her many virtues as a neighbor and friend. The funeral was held on Friday morning from St. Mary�s church at Stockbridge, Rev. Fr. Paul E. Herb officiating with burial in the family lot in St. Mary�s cemetery. The funeral was a large one. She is survived by four sons, Anton and Joseph of Little Chute, John of Sheboygan, Math of Long Beach, Calif., and a daughter, Mrs. Robert Mangan of Chilton town.

Miss Anna Koehn, who has been seriously ill for the last few weeks, is convalescing.

Died � At her home in this burg on Friday evening May 15th, Anna M. Koehn, aged 14 years and 29 days. The deceased was born in the town of Brothertown, April 16th, 1877, spending there a part of her childhood days. She came with her parents to this town some eight years ago, living in our midst until the time of her death. She was a girl of a pleasant, amiable disposition, quiet demeanor and one always displaying good moral behavior, inclined at all times to do a favor for those around her. She grew from childhood beloved by all who knew her. Just entering into womanhood she was suddenly snapped from those whom she held dear, especially that kind father and loving mother who found so hard a trial in parting with her in death. But the Father of all saw fit to remove her from her earthly sufferings to his beautiful home in the great beyond, where she has joined that rand choir of angels interceding with God for those who mourn her loss on earth. The funeral occurred from St. Mary�s church, Stockbridge, Monday. The remains were borne to their last resting place by six young lady bearers and followed by a large concourse of friends and relatives. May she rest in peace. � Myrtle. John Gillis and wife, P.J. Nicholas A. Keuler, 93, of 128 School St., Chilton, died on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1996 at the Chilton Village Nursing Home. He was born on March 10, 1903 in Chilton, son of the late Joseph and Katherine Schmidlkofer Keuler. He married Florence Mangan on April 18, 1927 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton. She preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 1987. He attended school in Stockbridge, and business school in Milwaukee. When he returned from Milwaukee, he operated taverns in Stockbridge, the town of Harrison and Brothertown, and also a operated a liquor store in Chilton. He later worked for the Hart Carter Co. in New Holstein and the Chilton Times Journal until retiring in 1970. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton and had served as a trustee and as sexton for the church cemetery for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Boll, Chilton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Laverne Keuler, Conyers, Ga.; Leo and Janice Keuler and Jerome and Arlene Keuler, all of Chilton; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Petronella Stephens, Riverside, Calif. and frances Guelig, Chilton. He was also preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 14, 1996 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fred Peters S.D.S. officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Mary Koehn {nee: Brantmeier, widow of Joseph}, 72, Little Chute, died at 1:30 this morning after a long illness. She was born Nov. 10, 1871 {sic, actually Nov 10, 1882} in Sherwood. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. John Catholic church, Little Chute, with burial in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 Saturday and Sunday evenings at the Verkuilen Funeral home, Little Chute. Friends may call there after 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence McMahan and Miss Helen Koehn, both of Little Chute; one brother, Nicholas Brantmeier, Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Otto Jenny and Mrs. Arnold Smits, both of Little Chute; and four grandchildren.

Lancaster - Pearl M. Kohlmann, 78, formerly of New Holstein and Plymouth, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998 in Lancaster, where she has resided since 1986. She was born Aug. 26, 1919 in Brillion, the daughter of the late Fred and Alghanie Wriedt Longrie. She attended schools in New Holstein. She graduated from New Holstein High School in 1938. Pearl was employed as a secretary for the Sheboygan School District for approximately 12 years. Surviving are two sons, Keith {Judith} of Western Springs, Ill. and Tim {Susan} of Ashland, Ore.; two daughters, Jan {Steve} Muellenbach of Dayton, Ohio and Carol {Mark} Helmke of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Fred Longrie of Little Chute, James Longrie of Washington, Roger Longrie of White Lake, Mich., and Terrence Longrie of Cleveland, Wis.; three sisters, Florecence Keltz of Michigan, Genevieve Opits of Thonatossa, Fla., and Ruth Sauthoff of Pewaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held today {Thursday} at 11 a.m. at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in New Holstein. A memborial fund will be established in her name.

Funeral services for Walter A. Kohlmann, 63, of 1333 Wisconsin Ave., New Holstein, who died July 19, 1983, were held Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. The Rev. Ralph Hermsen, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Holy Rosary Church Cemetery. Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Kohlmann was born in Jericho, on Nov. 13, 1919, son of the late Adolph and Elizabeth Greve Kohlmann. He attended New Holstein schools, graduating from high school in 1939. Mr. Kohlmann had owned and operated the This is it tavern from 1960 until 1981. The business had been in the family since 1944. He and the former Pearl Longrie were married on Feb. 22, 1941, in Detroit. Mr. Kohlmann was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served in the Army Medical Corps in Europe and Africa from 1941 to 1945. He was a member of New Holstein American Legion Post 124, the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Chilton, the Forty and Eight of Chilton, and the Calumet County Tavern League. Survivors include two sons, Keith of Bolingbrook, IL, and Timothy of Westmont, IL; two daughters, Mrs. Steven {Jan} Muellenbach of Chilton, and Mrs. Mark {Carol} Helmke of Lancaster, WI; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Reese of New Holstein, Mrs. Alyce Winkel of Route 2, Elkhart Lake, and Mrs. Cyrilla Schmitz of DePere, WI. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Fred L. Koehler, 80, formerly of 515A Center Ave., died Thursday afternoon at the Anna M. Reiss Home where he had resided the past three years.

Born in the Town of Woodville in Calumet County on Sept. 5, 1888, he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa Koehler.

On Nov. 5, 1915, he married the former Mary Groeschl at St. Charles Catholic Church at Charlesburg. She died in 1947.

The couple had farmed near Chilton until 1939. In 1941 they moved to Sheboygan where Mr. Koehler was employed by the Motor Transport Co. until his retirement in 1953.

He was a member of St. Clement's Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Francis of Sheboygan, Sylvester of Manitowoc and Vernon of Sun Prairie; a daughter, Mrs. Christ {Marcella} Reimer, Sheboygan; 15 grandchildren; and four brothers, Leonard, Claude and Norbert, all of Hilbert, and Leo of Kaukauna.

A son, three brothers, and a sister preceded him in death.

A requiem Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Clement's Catholic Church by the Rev. Russell Stommel, associate pastor, following brief family rites at the Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Stockbridge.

Mark J. Kautzer, 67, of 2101 Randolph Ave., New Holstein, died Friday night at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton after a short illness.

He was born on Jan. 15, 1905, in Chilton, the son of the late John and Anna Schabel Kautzer and attended local schools.

Mr. Kautzer was employed most of his life by Depies Oil Co. in New Holstein.

On Oct. 28, 1933, he married the former Loraine Heus in Marytown.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and its Holy Name Society.

Survivors are his wife; a son, John, Manitowoc; five daughters, Mrs. John {Jean} Hemauer, New Holstein, Mrs. John {Lois} Hilmer, Kewaunee, Mrs. Thomas {Karen} Baslie, Mequon, Mrs. Charles {Mary} Smittkamp, Cedarburg, and Mrs. Gene {Ellen} Park, New Berlin; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Sylvester, New Holstein; six sisters, Mrs. William Endries, Chilton, Mrs. Norman Darkow, Milwaukee, Mrs. Evelyn Brock, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Fred Burmeister, Kenosha, Mrs. Frank Showacy, Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Frances Koehler, Sheboygan.

Owen J. Kautzer, 46, of the State of Hawaii, passed away in Hawaii on Sunday, December 3, 1989, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born in New Holstein March 16, 1943, son of Sylvester and Gertrude Roeck Kautzer. Owen graduated from New Holstein High School in 1961, after which he made the United States Navy a career.

Survivors include his wife of Hawaii, one son of Hawaii, his parents, of New Holstein, two sisters one of West Allis and one of Fond du Lac.

Funeral services are planned in Hawaii.

Sylvester A. Kautzer, 78, of 2203 Monroe Street, New Holstein, died Sunday, June 16, 1991, at Calumet Medical Center, in Chilton.

He was born October 8, 1912, in Chilton, a son of the late John and Anna {Schabel} Kautzer. Mr. Kautzer was Personnel and Safety Director at Arps Corporation, in New Holstein, retiring in 1978.

On September 5, 1942, he married Gertrude Roeck, in New Holstein. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein and a life-member of the New Holstein Lions Club.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, one of West Dallas and one of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren; four sisters, one of Joplin, Mo., one of Kenosha, one of Vancouver, Wash. and one of Sheboygan, one daughter-in-law of Gilbert, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by one son, Owen; one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in New Holstein, officiating is Rev. Monsignor Peter Klauck. Burial will be in New Holstein Townsite Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home, in New Holstein, from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday.

A sad accident occurred Sunday morning in the vicinity of Brillion. Brillion resident Emil Krueger about 26, fell under the wheels of the Ashland Express which was coming from the north to Manitowoc. It appears that Krueger attended a dance in Ryan's Grove near Brillion on July 4th, after which he accompanied Miss Agnes Kirk to her residence and then headed toward his own home using the railroad rightof-way. The engineer of the fast moving train saw him only a moment before impact. It has not been established whether Krueger tried to get off the tracks or not. What is known is that in the next few seconds the man's body was torn into a hundred pieces. The engineer brought the train to a stop as soon as possible, but it was too late to do anything for the victim.

Mrs. William Kalwitz town of Brothertown, Passed away at 7 pm Thursday, Nov. 4 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, following a lingering illness.

Nee Nettie Hajenga, she was born May 29, 1876, in the town of Chilton, the daughter of the late Mr.ad Mrs. Rudolf Hajenga. She attended Brant school, and on May 22, 1898 was married to William Kalwitz at Brothertown.

She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Calumetville, the Women's Guild of Calumetville, and the Woment's Society of Christian Service at Brothertown.

Survivors include two sons, Otto at home, and the Rev. Rudolf Kalwitz of Milwaukee: three daughters, Mrs. William {Emma} Olbrich and Mrs. Ebon {Ella} Phillips, both of the town of Brothertown, and Mrs. Elmer {Clara} Klessig at home; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Alex of Milbank , S.D. Robert of Brillion, and Rudolph of Great Falls, Montana.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday at the St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Calumetville. The Rev. C.A. Voll officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery.

Pall bearers were George Phillips, Lincoln Klessig, Robert Hajenga, Donald Hajenga, Charles Kalwitz, and Louis Kalwitz.

Vor etwa zwei Jahren war er als Gefeierter Gast bei der Hochzeit seiner eigenten Urenkeln and wesend-ein Ururenkel lebt seit etwa einem halben Jahre. Dieser Familie leben also tatsachlich 5 Generationen zu gleicher Zeit, und zwar-vor der letzten kurzen Krankheit des nun Verstorben-alle 5 Glieder dieser Zweck respectiven Generationen in volle Gesundheit. Er erfreute sich stets der Besten Gesundheit, war er so zu sagen niemals Krank und lebte, auf gleich 25 Jahren von Geschaft und Gelderwurb zuruck gezogen. Bis vor etwa Jahres lieferte er einen Jahrlichen Bericht an den "Demokrat" den manche der Leser stats mit Interesse gelesen, uber die resultate seiner Tagliche meterologischen Beobachten, welche er statspunktlich und mit grosser Genauigkeit anstalte. Ein Grund zu seines Charakters war Strenge, manchinal Peinliche Rechtigkeit-von der Achtung, welche er allgemein genos, zeugte ein ausnehmend Zahlreiches Leichen Erfolge.

A large group participated this past Sunday in putting a man to his last rest in the cemetery in this place. It is worth mentioning in hindsight about the life of Johann Oelrich Kr�hnke who was born on September 2, 1810 in Marne, Duchy of Holstein and who immigrated along with a number of Europeans to America and found his way in the wilderness to this region and became one of the founders of the Town of New Holstein. Five years later he journeyed to Sheboygan where he lived with his family until 1872. Then he returned here where he then spent the remainder of his life surrounded by a circle of friends and family and here he died on the 4th of the month in the house of one of his sons of fraility of old age. He was twice married, the first time to Margartha Ragener and the second time to Margaretha Schlichting, the latter of whom died a little less than two years before he did. He had 15 children who called him Father - 7 died in their youth while 2 died shortly after their births. He left behind 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. About two years ago he was one of the celebrants at the wedding of a great grandchild and had a great great grandchild these past six months. Just before the time of his death 5 generations of his family were alive and all in good health. He enjoyed the best of health and was rarely ill and lived, for the last 25 years from his business and financial interests. For a number of years he was a reporter for the Demokrat, much of what he reported being of great interest to the readers, as with the results of his meteorological observations which he did with great care and punctuality report on. The foundation of his character was the strength of his oftentimes scrupulous rectitude. This brought about the attention paid by the many people who followed his corpse to the cemetery.

Loraine J. Kautzer, 83, of 2101 Randolph Ave., New Holstein, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 3 at the Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein, where she had been a resident for one month.

Mrs. Kautzer was born on Aug. 25, 1906, in Marytown, WI, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Molitor Heus.

On Oct. 28, 1933, she married Mark J. Kautzer in Marytown. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1972.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, its Christian Mothers Society, and was a charter member of the Marion Circle, Daughters of Isabella, Branch 923. She was also a member of the New Holstein Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors include a son, John {Faye} Kautzer of Whitelaw, WI; five daughters, Mrs. Jean {John} Hemauer of New Holstein; Mrs. Lois {John} Hillmer of Two Rivers; Mrs. Karen Basile of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Mary {Charles} Smittkamp of Cedarburg; and Mrs. Ellen {Gene} Park of New Berlin; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Heus of New Holstein; and a sister, Mrs. Marie Matthews of Orange, Calif.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Irwin Heus.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein. The Rev. Msgr. Peter Klauck will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home in New Holstein from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.

There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday and a service of the wake at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

St. Nazianz - Mrs. Catherine Kautza, 80, died Thursday morning after being ill for the past three months. Death was due to heart trouble.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory's church and St. Nazianz and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery, Chilton, beside her first husband, the Rev. Fintan Holzknecht officiating.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Miss Catherine Hoffmann, was born September 2, 1862, at Martyown. After the death of her first husband, Werner Schaefer, of Chilton, she was married to Anton Kautza of St. Nazianz in 1905 at St. Mary's church, Chilton.

Survivors are three sons, John, Anton and Jacob Schaefer, all of Milwaukee; 10 step-children, Frank Kautze of Sheboygan, William of Aniwa, John of Chilton Henry of Aiwa, Albert of Racine, Mrs. Charles Lutzke of Sheboygan, Mrs. Charles Packard of Chilton, Mrs. Frank Zettler of Athens, Mrs. Alfred Bartel of Milwaukee, and one step-daughter by her first marriage, Mrs. Mary Salter of Milwaukee. One granddaughter, Mrs. Janitz of Milwaukee, ___ as Dorothy Barth, whom she brought up as her own child, ___ survives together with four ___ grandchildren.

Mrs. Kautza was a member of the Christian Mothers' society of St. gregory's parish and members of that society will assemble at the funeral home Sunday at 3 p.m. to pray the Rosary. They will also attend the funeral services ____ a body.

Leland Kanter, age 43, of Route 1, Brillion, passed away Tuesday after a lingering illness. He was born August 12, 1921 in the Town of Rantoul, the son of Charles and the late Clara Behnke Kanter. He married Hazel Steinbach November 14, 1942 in Brillion, and farmed in the Town of Rantoul and Brillion. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion. Mr. Kanter is survived by his wife, Hazel; his father, Charles; one brother, Wilmer, both of Brillion. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Arden Stuebs officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion after 2 p.m. Friday until 10:30 a.m. Saturday and then at the church until the hour of service.

John P. Klapperich died at 7 PM on April 29, 1961. He was born in Marshfield, {Wood Co.} Wisconsin. He lived in the Chilton community for 72 years. He was a member of the St. Mary Church, Chilton and the Holy Name Society. On March 10, 1912, he married Magdalena Portman in Wahpeton, North Dakota. She died on June 4, 1923. John then married Margaret Wettstein on November 10, 1942 in Chilton. Mr. Klapperich farmed in the towns of Stockbridge and Brothertown until 1942 when he moved to Chilton.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, son Norbert of rural Chilton, two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy {Edward} Wettstein, Kiel, and Mrs. Delphine {Sylvester} Schmitz of rural Kiel, two sisters, Martha {John} Steffen of Stanley, and Gertrude {Simon} Wettstein of New Holstein. He was preceded in death by one son and two sisters. Burial took place at St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Kloten.

Kiel - Mrs. Anna Klein, 76, widow of the late Henry Klein, and former resident of this community, passed away Sunday evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Faust, town of Meeme, Manitowoc county, after a lingering illness.

The deceased was born Anna Dietrich, on Jan. 18, 1868, and on March 6, 1887, was united in marriage with Henry Klein, town of Rhine. Following their marriage the couple moved to a farm in the town of Meeme, and then moved to Kiel where they lived for 44 years. Five years ago, Mrs. Klein moved to the town of Meeme where she made her home with her daughter.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mamie Faust; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild and one brother, William Dietrich, town of Meeme. Her husband preceded her in death 29 years ago, and one son, John passed away in 1937.

Mrs. Klein was a member of the Christian Mothers' society of Ss. Peter and Paul church, Kiel. Members of the society will recite the rosary at the church at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. at the church. The Rev. F.X. Kheil will officiate and burial will be in the family lot in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until the time of services.

A week ago Thursday, Henry Klein died of thyroid consumption. He reached the age of 53 years, 4 months and 8 days. Mr. Klein, who was a life long resident of the area, was well known. He was born on April 5, 1862 in the town of Rhine and was raised there. In 1887, Anna Dietrich and Mr. Klein were married. She was born in the town of Meeme. They settle on a farm in that Town.

He came to Kiel where he managed a furniture store, but moved onto a farm in New Holstein. After two years, he returned to Kiel where he took a job with the Standard Oil Co., which he kept until April of this year, when his health forced him to resign his position.

Surviving are his wife; two children, John W. and Mamie; two sisters and a brother.

The funeral took place Monday morning at Saints Peter & Paul Church with Rev. Kolbe officiating.

The Kiel�s Choir sang hymns. The fire department and the E.F.U. acted as pallbearers. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery.

George Keenan, 72, former local resident, and at one time Sheboygan county board supervisor of Elkhart Lake, where he also resided several years, passed away at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. J. Herriges at Random Lake, Sunday morning at 7:10 o'clock. The deceased was born in the town of Russell June 1, 1868. His wife, the former Cecelia DeLaHunt of Little Falls, Minnesota, died 11 years ago.

For several years he conducted a dairy business and milk route in Elkhart Lake, and for the past several years has lived with his daughter. Survivors are two sons and two daughters, namely: Mrs. Ed. J. Herriges of Random Lake, Mrs. Harold Brennan of Valders, George of Milwaukee, and Thomas of Waukesha, and a brother, Thomas of Milwaukee.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock from the D.G. Wilk Funeral Home at Random Lake, and at 10 o'clock services were conducted at the St. George Catholic church at Elkhart Lake, with burial being made in the St. Anna cemetery.

Mr. Keenan was a charter member and past president of St. Anna's branch, Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and was a member of the Holy Name Society of the St. George church at Elkhart Lake, and St. Mary's church at Random Lake. While at Elkhart Lake he was consultor at St. George's church, and until his retirement in 1917, Mr. Keenan had been on the Sheboygan County Board for six successive years. He was a member of the mediation and tax claims committees.

On Saturday last Mrs. Adolph Stoelting received word of the death of her cousin. Mrs. Castor Kuehl of Brillion, who had suffered a stroke just a week before.

Mrs. Kuehl, daughter of August and Auguste Krieger was born in Kiel in 1870. She married Castor Kuehl of New Holstein. Several years later they moved to Brillion, where Mr. Kuehl preceded her in death in 1939.

Two sons were born to them: Erwin, who is now in business in Oshkosh, and Edgar, for many years a business representative of the Du Pont de Nemours company of Wilmington, Del., in Sao Paulo, Brazil. For a number of weeks this early winter Edgar and his wife were at home in Brillion with Mrs. Kuehl. They are on their return to Sao Paulo, having set sail from New Orleans on Jan. 2.

Funeral took place on Tuesday, with burial in New Holstein. Attending from Kiel were Adolph Stoelting and daughter, Mrs. Olaf Lee, Henry Burkhardt, and Edgar Schunk, and Miss Frida Krieger of Milwaukee. After the services the following stopped at the Adolph Stoelting home here: Miss Rhoda Dredow of Davenport, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Arno Krueter and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nehring of Milwaukee, Miss Dredow and Mrs. Nehring were nieces of the deceased, while Mr. Krueger was her nephew.

Roman V. Kohlmann, 61, Route 2, Chilton, died at 12:55 p.m. Saturday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, following a lingering illness.

He was born in the Town of Forest on May 11, 1907, a son of Charles and Johanna Kemps {sic: Kempf} Kohlmann. He married Loretta Lisowe on June 19, 1935, at Holy Trinity Church, Jericho.

Mr. Kohlmann farmed at Route 2, Chilton, and was a member of the National Farmers Organization.

Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Basler of Route 4, Chilton; one grandchild; one brother, Beno of Fond du Lac; five sisters, Mrs. Ervin Maurer of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Joseph Muellenbach of St. Cloud, Mrs. Alfred Ditter of Johnsburg, Mrs. Edward Liebe of Elkhart Lake and Mrs. Thomas White Sr. of Chicago.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Church, Charlesburg, with the Rev. Francis J. Melchior officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Kohlmann, 68, of 525A Smith St., Plymouth, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Plymouth Hospital, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Huss Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Plymouth. The Rev. Bernard Sippel, a nephew, associate pastor of St. Mary's Church, Elm Grove, will officiate and burial will be in St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Mrs. Kohlmann was born Dec. 31, 1903 in the Town of Forest, Fond du Lac County. She was a daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth Wirth Sippel. She married Leo Kohlmann on Aug. 29, 1922 at St. Cloud. He died in 1950.

She attended St. Cloud Catholic School and after their marriage they farmed near Mt. Calvary. For the past 14 years she has resided in Plymouth.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers, the auxiliary of the St. Cloud American Legion Post No. 478 and for many years worked as a volunteer on the bloodmobile.

Survivors include five sons, Stanley, Brookfield; Aloysius at home; David, Manitowoc; Lawrence, rt. 1, Glenbeulah, and Herman, Mayville; one daughter, Mrs. Walter {Romilda} Rathke, New Holstein, 23 grandchildren, and one great-grandson, one sister, Mrs. Josephine Krug, Fond du Lac, and two brothers, Albert Sippel of Glenbeulah and a twin brother, Sylvester Sippel of Plymouth.

Friends may call at the Huss funeral home after 2 p.m. today and a parish vigil will be held this evening at 8 o'clock at the funeral home.

Aloysius W. "Al" Kohlmann age 78 of 228 E. Mill St. in Plymouth, died on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the Plymouth Care Center in Plymouth.

He was born Oct. 31, 1926 in Mt. Calvary, son of the late Leo and Sylvia {Sippel} Kohlmann.

Aloysius worked for Steinhardt Bros. Mink Ranch as well as other mink ranches in the area and Knowles Manufacturing as a maintenance man. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and was a former member of the Plymouth Eagles Club.

Al enjoyed listening to polka music, playing miniature bowling, watching The Price is Right and playing sheepshead.

Survivors include his brothers, Stanley Kohlmann of Brookfield, David {Ruth} Kohlmann of North Fond du Lac, Lawrence {Anna} Kohlmann of Glenbeulah and Herman {Delores} Kohlmann of Mayville. Al is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Romilda "Millie" Rathke.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth with the Rev. Bernard Sippel officiating. Inurnment will be in the St. Cloud Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday when services will be held.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Aloysius W. Kohlmann.

George Kohlmann, 48, a foundry worker at Kohler, died unexpectedly at 3:10 a.m. Sunday at his home on Calumet drive, New Holstein.

He was born at St. Cloud in October 1904, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kohlmann, and was married May 30, 1928, at Jericho to Josephine Grewe.

Surviving are the widow and five brothers and five sisters, Adolph, New Holstein, Henry, Mt. Calvary, Arnold, Sheboygan Falls, Alex, Ft. Atkinson, Leonard, St. Charles, Ill., Mrs. Wilhelmina Schneider, Waldo, Mrs. Willard Pierce and Mrs. Howard Gutreuter, Ft. Atkinson, Mrs. Clem Abler, St. Cloud and Mrs. Elmer Foley, Plymouth.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary church, New Holstein, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Clyde Wagner will officiate. The body will be in state at the Erbe- Hoffman Funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

New Holstein � George Benedict Kohlmann, 48, died unexpectedly at his home at 2007 Calumet Drive Sunday at 3:10 a.m. Death was due to a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 9:30 at Holy Rosary church, with the Rev. Clyde Wagner officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Kohlmann was born Oct. 1, 1904, in St. Cloud, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kohlmann. He received his education in the schools there and on May 30, 1928, married Miss Joseph Greve at Holy Trinity church, Jericho. Mr. Kohlmann�s occupation was that of foundry worker at the Kohler plant, Kohler, Wis.

Mr. Kohlman is survived by five brothers, Adolph of New Holstein, Henry of Mt. Calvary, Arno of Sheboygan Falls, Alex of Fort Atkinson and Leonard of St. Charles, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Wilhelmina Schneider, Waldo; Mrs. Willard Pierce and Mrs. Harold Gutreuter, Fort Atkinson; Mrs. Elmer Foley, Plymouth; and Mrs. Clem Abler, St. Cloud.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Kohlmann, 87, formerly of 1321 Wisconsin Ave., New Holstein, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home, New Holstein, and at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein.

She died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1981, at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein, where she resided since October of 1979.

The Rev. Ralph Hermsen will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born at Jericho, Town of Chilton, Calumet County, on Dec. 18, 1893, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Marie Rollman Grewe. She attended Jericho Schools, and on Nov. 14, 1917, was married to Adolph Kohlmann at Jericho, and they observed their 50th anniversary in 1967.

Mrs. Kohlmann was a member of Holy Rosary Church at New Holstein, Christian Mothers and New Holstein Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a son, Walter of New Holstein; three daughters {names omitted for privacy}; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 1, 1976, and by an infant son and two sisters.

Adolph N. Kohlmann, 78, of 1321 Wisconsin Ave., New Holstein, a tavern keeper in new Holstein until retirement, died at 8 p.m. Sunday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton.

He was born at St. Cloud on Aug. 20, 1897, a son of Anton and Clara Endres {sic: Enders} Kohlmann. He attended grade school at St. Cloud, and on Nov. 14, 1917, he married Elizabeth Grewe at Jericho, and they observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1967.

Mr. Kohlmann was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church at New Holstein, Holy Name Society and Order of Redmen of St. Anna.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Walter of New Holstein; three daughters {names omitted for privacy}; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great- grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers, Henry of Mount Calvary, Arno of Sheboygan Falls, Alex and Leonard, both of Fort Atkinson; and four sisters, Mrs. William Pierce and Mrs. Harold Guodreiter {sic: Gutreuter}, both of Fort Atkinson, Mrs. Elmer Foley of Plymouth and Mrs. Clem Abler of St. Cloud. A brother and sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home, New Holstein, and at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein. The Rev. Ralph Hermsen will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. Kohlmann will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Josephine G. Kohlmann, 77, of 2007 Calumet Drive, New Holstein, died at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 1979, at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton.

She was born in the town of Chilton, Calumet County, on Nov. 24, 1901, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Mary Rollmann Grewe. She attended Holy Trinity Parochial School at Jericho. On May 30, 1928, she was married to George B. Kohlmann at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Jericho.

Mrs. Kohlmann was presently a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein, and Christian Mothers.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kohlmann of New Holstein. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 7, 1952, and by two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home, New Holstein, and at 2 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, New Holstein. The Rev. Ralph Hermsen will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Kohlmann will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Glidden � Frank J. Koehn, 59, assistant principal of Ashland High School died suddenly at his home Monday morning.

He was born in Sherwood, Wisconsin, March 3, 1918. He has lived in the Glidden area for 21 years. He taught school in many areas before becoming Ashland High School assistant principal.

He was married to Maxine McGuire at Camp McCoy, Aug. 30, 1944. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.

He is survived by his wife; two sons {names omitted for privacy}; his mother, Mrs. Clara Koehn, Little Chute, Wis.; five brothers and two sisters {names omitted for privacy}.

There will be a visitation at the Bruns Funeral Home in Glidden after 5 p.m. tonight. Private funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Cayuga cemetery. It is requested that flowers be omitted.

Mrs. Clara Koehn, former of 316 Monroe St., Little Chute, age 89, died at 9:25 a.m. Monday. She was born Dec. 30, 1888 in Sherwood. She had owned and operated the Little Chute Theatre until her retirement in 1950. Mrs. Koehn was a member of the St. Elizabeth Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Clarence {Merla} Lamers, Little Chute; and {name omitted for privacy}; five sons: Anthony, Neenah; Roger, Little Chute; James, Kimberly; {names omitted for privacy}; a brother, West Seidel, Sherwood; 29 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Frank, in 1977, two sisters, and a brother. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Little Chute � Anton Koehn, 49, died Monday evening at his home here after an illness of several months. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Merla and Imogene and six sons, Anthony, Francis, James, Roger, Clyde and Kenneth. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Little Chute � Funeral services for Anton Koehn, 49, who died Monday evening at his home here after an illness of several months, were held at 9 o�clock Thursday morning at St. John church with the Rev. Theodore Verbeten in charge. Burial took place in the Catholic cemetery.

The bearers were John Strebe, Julius Smith and Albert Helterling of Sherwood and Nicholas Metz, Carl and George Van Berkle of this village.

The decedent was proprietor of the Little Chute theatre and also owned a barbershop here.

He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Merla and {name omitted for privacy} and six sons, Anthony, Francis, {names omitted for privacy}, Roger and James all of this village. Three brothers and one sister also survive. They are John, Sheboygan; Matthew, Los Angeles, Calif., Joseph, Little Chute; Mrs. Robert Mangan, Chilton.

Joseph Koehn, 67, of 505 Pine street, Little Chute, died about 11 o�clock Thursday evening at his home following several months� illness.

Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Miss Helen, at home; and Mrs. Larry McMahon, Little Chute; a brother, John, Sheboygan; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Mangan, Kiel; and a grandchild.

Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral home, Little Chute after 7 o�clock Saturday evening and the rosary will be recited at 8:15 on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

A solemn requiem funeral mass will be said at St. John Catholic church, Little Chute, at 9 o�clock Monday morning with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John J. Sprangers in charge. Assisting will be the Rev. Felix Van Driese and the Rev. Norbert VandeLoo. Burial will be in the Little Chute cemetery.

Koehn was born Feb. 1, 1882, in Jericho and lived for 39 years in Little Chute. He operated a tavern for 36 years until retiring about two years ago. Prior to coming to Little Chute he had operated taverns in Harrison and Brillion. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. John Catholic church, Little Chute and of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.

Mrs. John Kautzer, 75, of Francis St., Chilton, died at her home at 5:30 p.m. Friday. She had been ill two months.

The former Anna Schabel, she was born in Chilton, April 24, 1883, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Schabel.

Her marriage to Mr. Kautzer took place at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chilton, April 14, 1902. The couple continued to live in Chilton.

Mrs. Kautzer was a member of the Christian Mothers and Mission societies of St. Mary Parish.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Mark and Lester, both of New Holstein; six daughters, Mrs. William {Helen} Endries, of Chilton; Mrs. E.H. {Evelyn} Brock, of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Norman {Frances} Darkow of Milwaukee, Mrs. Fred {Dorothy} Burmeister, of Kenosha, Mrs. George {Rose} Schroeder, of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Francis {Jeanette} Koehler of Sheboygan, and 29 grandchildren.

She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Matt Russell of Los Angeles, Mrs. Helen Feltes of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. Eva Ziedler, of Marshfield.

A son, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

The Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church with the Rev. Joseph Bartelme, pastor, officiating. Mass will follow 9 o'clock family rites at the Pfeffer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The funeral Mass for Jerome A. Koch, 63, of Jericho, who died Friday of an apparent heart attack, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Jericho. The Rev. Ronald Reimer, pastor, will be celebrant.

Mass will follow 9:30 family rites at the Pfeffer Funeral Home in Chilton, with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Mr. Koch had resided at the home of his sister, Mrs. Alfred Karls, at Jericho. He was a farmer and had also been employed by the Town of Brothertown Highway Department for 19 years.

A native of Brothertown, he was born Dec. 26, 1909, a son of the late J. William and Mary Koch.

Surviving, in addition to the sister, Mrs. Karls, are two other sisters, Mrs. Veronica Scholz of Chilton and Mrs. Anthony Lanser of Fond du Lac.

Mrs. Edwin {Ella} Kind, 84, of 2217 Jackson St., New Holstein, died at 8:30 a.m. Fri. Nov. 4, 1977, at Calumet Memorial Hospital.

Born in the Town of New Holstein on June 25, 1893, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Miller Hass. She was married to Edwin Kind on Feb. 22, 1922, in Chilton.

She was a lifelong resident of the New Holstein area and attended New Holstein Rural School. She was employed in the machine shop of the Lauson Division of Tecumseh Products Co. and also by Hipke Canning Co. She was a member of St. John�s United Church of Christ in New Holstein.

She is survived by her husband; five son and two daughters {names omitted for privacy}; 24 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Louis Greve of New Holstein.

She was preceded in death by one grandchild, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. John�s United Church of Christ in New Holstein with the Rev. Albert K. Borns officiating. Burial will be in New Holstein city cemetery.

George Koffarnus, 85, formerly of R. 1, Hilbert, died Wednesday at the Toth Nursing Home in Chilton after a lingering illness.

The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koffarnus was born on Oct. 8, 1885, in the Town of Chilton, where he was a dairy farmer most of his life.

He married Helen Lautenschlager on Nov. 5, 1908, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hilbert. She died on Sept. 15, 1965.

Mr. Koffarnus was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ervin {Esther} Musegades of Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Ray {Mildred} Hasche of Oshkosh; Mrs. Franklin {Lucille} Flemming of Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Kenneth {Vera} Olson of Three Rivers, Mich.; six sons, Norbert of Okauchee Lake; Reuben and Alvin, both of R. 1, Hilbert, Roman of Brillion, Gerald of Seminore and Ralph of Hilbert; 35 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Hillman of Hilbert and Mrs. Louisa Rabe of Green Bay.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert, with the Rev. C. A. Rathjen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the Kapitzke Funeral Home in Hilbert until 11 a.m. Saturday, and at the church from noon until time of services.

Raymond J. Klapperich, 66, of 1803 Van Buren St., New Holstein, died Saturday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, after an illness of one month.

He was born in the Town of New Holstein on June 30, 1906, a son of the late Anton and Anna Gosz Klapperich.

On May 24, 1932 he married the former Valeria Woelfel at St. Martin Catholic Church, Charlestown.

For 24 years he was employed by Kohler co., retiring Jan. 26, this year.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein, and its Holy Name Society, and a charter member of the New Holstein Historical Society.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Anthony of Kaukauna; a daughter, Mrs. Philip {Delores} Meadows of Boyd; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Emil of Waldo and Richard of Fond du Lac, and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Gleason of Two Rivers and Mrs. Robert Leach of Stockbridge.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home, New Holstein, and at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. Ralph Hermsen, pastor, celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

A Holy Name Society Rosary will be said there at 7:30 p.m. and a wake service at 8:15.

Chilton - Math Klinkner, 73, former mayor of Chilton and well-known carpenter and mason contractor, died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He had been ill for two weeks.

Mr. Klinkner served as mayor of Chilton from 1932 to 1936. He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Holy Name society of St. Augustine's Church at Chilton and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He was born in Charlesburg on March 1, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Klinkner. He attended St. Charles School at Charlesburg and later entered the building field. He was married to Miss Jennie Forkin at Chilton on Nov. 28, 1905. His wife died on Oct. 7, 1950.

The survivors include two brothers, Joseph of Plymouth and Frank of Chilton and three sisters, Mrs. John Weber of the town of Chilton, Mrs. Lena Kobriger of New Holstein and Mrs. Frank Kraus of Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Erbe-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chilton followed by rites at St. Augustine's Church at 9:30 o'clock. The Rev. Roland Ahearn will officiate and burial will be made in the St. Mary's Cemetery at Chilton.

Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of services.

The Rev. Father Ahearn will lead the rosary at the funeral home at 8 p.m. tonight and Tuesday.

Margaret Mary Kolbe, 8-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Kolbe of the Town of Charlestown, died at her home at 7 a.m. Friday. She had been ill since birth.

She was born at Fond du Lac on Dec. 14, 1954.

Survivors are her parents; five brothers, Richard, Mark, Roger, Ronald and Gerard; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Kolbe of Charlestown.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home at Chilton, and at 10 o'clock at St. Martin Catholic Church at Charlestown. The Rev. Arnulf Buck, S.D.S. will be the celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

George Krebsbach, 54, of 60 School St., Chilton, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton. He had been hospitalized only one day.

Born at Johnsburg {Fond du Lac County}, April 20, 1909, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Krebsbach. His father preceded him in death, while his mother lives in Chilton.

Mr. Krebsbach, who was not married, had been an employee of the Chilton water utility.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and East Shore Sportsmen's Club in Chilton.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, Reuben, Sheboygan, and Henry, Milwaukee; and three sisters, Mrs. Rene Krom, Sheboygan, Mrs. Ludgar Hau, Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Edward Berrens, Chilton.

The requiem Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Chilton, with the Rev. Roland Ahearn, pastor, celebrant. Mass will follow 9 a.m. family rites at the Erbe-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chilton, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery at St. Joe.

Dr. Royal Klofanda, 88, a former Chilton veterinarian, died early today at a nursing home in Clintonville where he resided the past four years.

He was born on April 16, 1886 at Racine, a son of the late Rudolph and Cecelia Klofanda.

On Nov. 14, 1917 he married Lydia Schelling at Racine. She died April 10, 1969.

Dr. Klofanda lived most of his life in Chilton where he operated a hatchery on Reed Street.

He was active in the community. In 1916 he organized the first Boys and Girls Club at Brillion, the forerunner to the present 4-H Club; organized the Brillion Community Farm Fair and served as the first Calumet County agricultural agent from 1917-21.

As county agent he organized the Calumet County Holstein Breeders Association, Calumet County Guernsey Association, Calumet County Beekeepers, Calumet County Swine Breeders and the Farmers Bookkeeping Club.

In the 1930s he was instrumental in reviving the Calumet County fair, was president of the Chilton Kiwanis Club and was a former district lieutenant governor.

From 1957-59 he served as state veterinarian, founded the Calumet County Historical Society in 1961, served on the Chilton City Plan Commission, was a past president of St. Martin Lutheran Church, and Lutheran Layman League district president.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. William {June} Brennan, Clintonville, Mrs. Marvin {Edith} Green, Montreal, Canada, and Mrs. Alyce Sclipcea, Appleton; a son, Dr. Royal Klofanda, Apple Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren, and a brother, Reuben, Racine.

Five brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Chilton, the Rev. Robert Novotney, pastor, officiating.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, from 4 p.m. Friday until 10:30 a.m. Swurday{sic} {Saturday} and at the church from noon until the time of the service.

Lorraine Christel-Kestell, age 92, formerly of New Holstein, died Friday April 1, 2005, in North Carolina.

She was born May 13, 1912, in New Holstein, a daughter of the late John and Catherine Loehndorf Haensgen. Lorraine attended New Holstein schools and graduated from Marquette School of Nursing in Milwaukee in 1933.

On Aug. 25, 1938, she married Arnold Christel in Kiel. Together they owned and operated Christel�s Department Store in New Holstein. Mr. Christel died on July 30, 1995.

On Dec. 27, 1996, she married Lester Kestell. The couple had resided at Felician Village in Manitowoc. Lester preceded her in death on April 20, 2003.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Trier and Lucille Gall, and a grandson, Christopher Wendel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday April 6, 2005, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Rev Frank Weber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Ave., New Holstein on Wednesday morning form 9-11 a.m., when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

The community was shocked on Friday afternoon when it learned that Henry Krohn, Jr., had passed away, after a short illness of acute encephalitis. He was the eldest son of Dr. and Mrs. H. C. Krohn, being born Dec. 30, 1915. He attended the public school and was also a member of the Reformed Sunday school class, and a member of the Juvenile band. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon with services at the home, Rev. A. C. Plappert officiating. Mrs. H. F. Arps of Chilton sang two vocal solos. Pallbearers were: Adrian Freund, Henry Gremmer, Wilbur Harder, Winfield Hipke, Waldemar Vollstedt and Milton Meyer.

Henry, Jr. leaves to mourn his untimely death his parents, and one brother, Frederick, nine years old. Interment was made in the local cemetery.
