Tewkes Creek and the area to the east was where the floods were at their worst in 1953.

Immediately to the East of Tewkes Creek. In the middle are Brandenburg and Tewkes Road. This is the area where the wall first broke in 1953.

Road made for access and realigned depth at west end of Tewkes Creek piling during repairs to the seawall post 1953 floods.
