Collins C. Burdick's Civil War Discharge Certificate
According to this certificate, Collins Burdick enrolled as a Private under Captain F. B. McReady in Company B, 51st Regiment, New York Veteran Volunteers on July 25, 1863 to serve three years or during the War.  He was discharged on July 25, 1865 (the same date this document was issued) near Alexandria, Virginia by reason of "S.O. 165 [?] Ors Dept of Washington 10 July 65".  He was noted to be 20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches in height, light complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, born in Allegany County, New York, and occupied as a farmer. The document was signed by Edwin Earp, Captain of the 1st Mass. Heavy Artilery, & A.C.M. District of Alexandria, Va. and by Captain F. B. McReady.
