The images below are
contained in a medium-sized, 12-page photo album that measures 8- 6/16
inches by 5-14/16 inches. Its cover is a simple, thin, grayish-brown
cardboard, which, at some point, became separated from the book. The
sizes of the photos vary, but most of them measure only 2 inches by 1-1/2
inches--pretty small.
The photo album was the creation of Gustav Smidt and Gisella Chlothildes
"Tila" Steinmann-Bucher, who were married on March 19, 1904. It
appears to chronicle their new home and the birth of their first son--my
grandfather--Georg Arnold Smidt, who was born just more than one year
later on March 29, 1905 in Bremen.
