In 1957, or there about,i made what was to turn out to be one of the biggest decisions of my life. I decided to make a temporary aliyah to Israel. I had just finished college and felt the need to spread my wings. All my preparations were done quite secretly, I knew my family would not be happy about this decision. So there I was on the dock of the SS Zion, about mid October, leaving for one of the biggest adventures I was to take.
Through the Jewish Agency my destination was Kibbutz Hazorea where I was to take part in an Ulpan to learn Hebrew and acclimate myself to this new lifestyle. It was there I met my future husband, got married and became a permanent resident...... looking forward to a new life. Just as my ancestors did, when they decided in the late 18th early 19th centuries to leave Europe and make a new life in the US, I had made my immigration. As the years moved on our family increased, three lovely girls, two married and with the latest count four grandchildren.
Somewhere in the back of my head I had always been interested in my family history. Sadly I only started on this journey when there were few to ask and learn their stories. So I decided that I must leave to my children my story and as much of my family's story that I can gather.
This will be a pictorial journey..... with the use of family images to relate my family's genealogy.
