In the name of God Amen I David Todd of Caroline County and State of Maryland being infirm and sick of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, reflecting on the uncertain direction of human life and the certainty of death, do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (viz) Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Keziah one feather bed and furniture of the first choice and one cow and calf as a legacie and her lawful dower in all my real and personal estate. Item, I give and bequeath unto my two grandsons William Todd and David Todd all that part of my land that I purchased of Levi Eaton's heirs where Edward Todd now lives and sixteen acres to be taken off from my home tract of land by beginning at the corner of Emanuel Hignutt's fence and running to James Peters' lands to them and their heirs and assigns, by their paying Ann Meriah Todd the full and just sum of fifty dollars current money.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my grandson Anthony Ross Todd all that part of my land which I bought of James Houston containing ninety six acres of land more or less to him his heirs and assigns. I also give him the said Anthony Ross Todd the sum of one hundred dollards to be paid to him when he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years, clear of interest untill that time, but in case he should die before he arrive at lawfull age then the said land and money shall become the property of my daughter Brittanna Eaton's children that shall be then living.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Todd all the rest and residue of my land which is where I now dwell containing one hundred and sixty eight acres of land more or less to him his heirs and assigns forever, by his paying my daughter Britanna Eaton the full and just sum of sixty three dollars and ninety three cents. Item, I give my grand daughter Eliza Ann Todd one dollar current money and no more of my estate.
Item, after my lawfull debts and personal expences are paid and the legacies and dower taken out I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Todd and daughter Brittanna Eaton one half of the residue of my personal estate to be equally divided between them and the other half in like manner between Ann Meriah Todd and Anthony Ross Todd to them their heirs and assigns. And lastly I make ____stitute and appoint my son Edward Todd and Jonathan Morriss of Delaware to be sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking and annulling all former Wills by me heretofore made, ratifing this and none other to be my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twentieth day of the eighth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five.
