In the name of God Amen, I Rebecah Walker of Caroline County and State of Maryland, being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my wordly affairs and thereby be the better perpared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me home, do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say,
First and principally I commit my Soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the Earth, to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor herein after named, and after my just debts and funeral charges are paid, I (devise) and bequeath as follows,
Item, I devise and bequeath unto Margaret Fleharty the wife of Joseph Fleharty my mare and carriage and one pine cupboard and the furniture thereunto belonging.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Fleharty all my monie which I have in hand and all my bonds and notes which I have now in my possession.
Item, I give unto my son Richard Fleharty all moneys which I might have been entitled to from him in consequence of the rents of a farm whereon he now lives which I was entitled to one third part of the same, it is my will and desire also that William Fleharty, my grandson, pay unto his brother Richard Fleharty, my grandson also, the sum of twenty dolars which money I lent to William Fleharty, for which money I took no obligation for.
Item, I devise and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate to be equally divided between my two sons Joseph Fleharty and Richard Fleharty to them their heirs and assigns forever, in equal portions shear and shear alike, it is also my will and desire that there shall be no administration on my estate and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Joseph Fleharty my sole executor of this my last will and testament, revoking and annuling all other wills by me heretofore made, ratifing and conferming this and none other to be my last will and testament. In Testamony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Eighth day of May in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and seventeen.
