When I was little, my Grandpa Earl Johnston loved to tell me about life when he was growing up. He talked about the steam engine and the sawmill they used on the farm. He laughed and seemed so happy when he was remembering the good old days. It started me thinking about the ancestors who lived and worked in the past so I could be me. I wanted to know who they were, where they lived and raised their children through the generations until I was born. It took lots of people to get each of us where we are today. This website is dedicated to those ancestors. My fathers family names, SURFACE, ECTON & JOBE, and my Mother's family names, JOHNSTON & BALVEN.
