Saxton Henry Nevett Wildes Meadow
Henry Nevett Saxton and his wife Alice purchased the property near the end of Blencowes Lane (last place on the left) in about 1920. My father Eric Nevett Saxton and his brother Arnold Nevett Saxton (my father and his brother) were still in their 'teens and had to work the very run down farm getting rid of blackberries etc. They called the farm Dalkerrah. They worked the farm as a dairy and grew vegetables. It was sold to the Bruems in the 1930's. After my father married and moved to "Allendale" (on the corner of Myra Vale Rd and Wildes Meadow Rd) the farm of his wife's (my mother) guardian, Francis William Johnson
Arnold Saxton and his wife Ida Blencowe later purchased a farm called Rotherwood at Wildes Meadow
My mother is Myrtle daughter of James Lackey and Maud Allen who was the daughter of Isaac Allen who built Laurel Lodge at Burrawang (I think they call it the Keep now) My mother was 100 in February and attended the Myra Vale School as I did.
